(hmmm…yeah that could be really cool!)
(So… Is that a yes to skipping ahead a bit?)
(yup! Do you want to do it, or do you want me to?)
(You can if you want. I'm coming up with nothing atm.)
(alright lol. Any ideas who he should be fighting?)
(Not really… Not Harbinger though. We don't want to rush into that scene yet. 😉)
(alrighty lol. I'll make one up off the top of my head)
Killian grimaced as he threw a blast of magic outward, hitting the hero he was fighting. He hadn't even done anything! Yet. He had been walking, in his suit, around the streets, and been attacked. Preemptively. He sighed, and grunted as he was flung across the road, landing hard on the concrete.
”So, you spend a whole day with a guy and you're telling me it wasn't a date?” Sophie interrogated for the hundredth time causing Jade to sigh.
”That’s right, Soph. He just helped me out with my bike and we split lunch. Not a date.” Jade replied flawlessly, not even looking up from her computer. The TV switching over to the news in the background of her attention for now.
"-and in other news, I am reporting live from a showdown between Hex and Flame." said the reporter on the TV.
Killian caught his breath, panting a little as he got up. He swallowed, and muttered a spell under his breath. Flame slammed into a building, fire shooting out of his hands.
Jade’s eyes immediately widened as they always did when she heard of a fight or crime but this time she nearly dropped her computer as she saw Hex on the screen.
”Oh! Another hero fight.” Sophie smiled, not out of seeing someone getting beat up but more of seeing the two hot guys, literally in Flame’s case. ”How much Aloe do you think a girl would need to get close to that fire?”
Flame had golden hair that peeked out from over his mask, and he sent bursts of flame roaring towards Hex. Hex threw his arms up, a pulse of blue light showing and creating a protective forcefield, keeping him safe from the burning blasts.
Normally, Jade would have scolded Sophie for her, now ongoing, comments but she was too deep in a mental debate on whether or not she should do something. On one hand, Hex was a very capable fighter and very powerful. He knew how to handle himself so dealing with Flame shouldn't be a problem for him. Besides, if she did suit up, it would be expected of her to help Flame… even though she didn't want to. And showing up at all might be seen as an insult to their fighting abilities.
Hex pushed his hands outward, the blue light spreading and slowly morphing to cup around Flame, trapping him. Flame shouted, flames pressing at and straining against the forcefield. Hex stood up straight, sweating a little from strain as he held the forcefield up.
Sophie gasped at the villain’s move as Jade leaned forward, analyzing everyone about the fight. ”Is he suffocating Flame?”
”I don't know, Soph.” Jade answered honestly. If the force field can stop air from getting in and out then Flame will have to stop using his power before he passes out. … But those flames have a physical force to them as well. It has to be a strain for Hex to hold it.
(Love the shout-out to Flame, one of my other characters! 😊)
Flame paused for a moment, eyes narrowed. He poured out another inferno of red hot fire. Hex took in a quick breath, and the forcefield shattered, pinpricks of light shimmering, then vanishing. Flame came at him again, fire pouring out.
(gtg to bed soon. Good night!)
Jade covered her mouth to muffle a gasp as the shield shattered. Sophie made another small comment, this time about Flame’s temper, completely absorbed in the fight. Jade quickly picked up her laptop and let her fingers fly as she hacked into the safety systems of one of the nearest buildings… Activating the fire suppression and triggering the sprinklers.
Hex growled a curse, and another forcefield formed, this time around himself again. Flame kept pursuing him, fire pouring down on the forcefield.
Come on, come on. Just get him into the water. It won't hurt him but it’ll give you an edge. Jade goaded mentally, biting her lip to keep from saying it out loud. It’s just behind you.
Hex could hear the sprinklers, and carefully led Flame into the building. For a villain, he was doing a good job at keeping people safe and away from the fight. Flame, however, simply followed him, sending blasts of flame through the air.
Jade let out a soft sigh of relief as Hex seemed to take the hint she set up, glad that Flame was oblivious so far. Flame seemed to consider himself as an entitled hero. It didn't always matter what he did in a fight as long as he got the bad guy. Just watching the report, it almost seemed like their roles were reversed by their actions.
Hex let out a breath as Flame was doused by the sprinklers. He grinned, and used his magic to trap more water, sending it rushing over Flame, dousing the fire that was shooting from the hero's hands. Flame shouted angrily.
