She laughed. "Ah. I take it Sophie doesn't know about the whole…hero thing?"
She laughed. "Ah. I take it Sophie doesn't know about the whole…hero thing?"
“No. And I don't plan on telling her.” she admitted. “She… She's a good friend but all this might be a bit much for her.”
"Of course, of course."
“What about you? Do you have a roommate?”
"Only a cat." She shook her head a little, smiling softly.
Jade barely managed to suppress a surprised snort at that. “A… cat? Really, Birdie?” she asked, her shoulders shaking slightly in amusement.
She stuck out her tongue. "Yes, his name is Simon and he's still a kitten."
“That’s really cute.” she smiled sincerely, though there was still a spark of humor in her eyes.
She laughed, pulling out her phone and showing Jade a picture of a little grey tabby kitten, with white paws and a white dot on his nose. "Here he is."
“Awwww… What a little cutie.” she cooed at the picture. “He’s so precious.”
She nodded, tucking the phone away again after a moment. "Mhm. I might need to get a roommate eventually, though."
She nodded and gave a soft hum. “Well, let me know if you ever want to run a background check on any one for that.” she said with a little smirk.
She laughed. "Alright, will do."
Jade laughed softly with her as the suggestion had been sincere but in good humor. In her case, it had been Sophie who volunteered for the background check.
She stretched, popping the bones in her neck as she did so.
“So… What was it that you were planning to do before you helped me earlier?”
"Nothing much. I'm not that busy today."
“Honestly, neither am I.” she nodded a little. “At least not at the moment. It's one of the benefits of being a freelance computer support agent.”
She nodded. "Nice."
“Yeah. It's nice. Though some of the customers aren't always the brightest.” she admitted.
"Yes, well, computers can be tricky, man."
“I know. I know. I’m gifted,” she winked teasingly, “but I mean sometimes the solution is as simple as restarting the computer. And it even tells them that, yet they still need a person to explain it.”
"Ah, yes. I'll admit, sometimes my computer will have issues and the solution will be something that should have been obvious."
Jade nodded. “But I know that it's not always so easy for people to spot that sort of thing… Otherwise, I'd be out of a job.” she chuckled.
"Yes, true. Exactly." She smiled over at Jade.
