She nodded and a smile came to her face, "Yep, you're doing awesome, you've pronounced those pretty well so far." Honor closed the door to the closet and walked back to the sink, this time being the one taking a seat on the counter as she watched him.
"Frank….Henry…Jasper….Matthew….Oscar….Oscar." He paused, rolling the name around in his head. "That one sounds right. I choose Oscar." He looked proud of himself. "Do you like it?"
"Oscar..I like it," She said, glancing at him and deciding that the name fit him, "As for the last name, I'll just have you be my 'cousin' and you can use my last name." Honor hopped off of the counter and gently took the list from him, "Now that we have that sorted out, should we get going to the hospital, Oscar?"
Oscar nodded reluctantly. "Fine. Wait, what's your last name? And what does 'cousin' mean?" He seemed to be standing a bit straighter and speaking with more sureness now that he'd chosen a name for himself.
Honor started out of the bathroom as she answered, flicking the lights off after herself so he would follow, "My last name is Kingsley, and a cousin is basically when your mother or father has a brother or a sister who has children. They are your cousins, someone not directly related to you like a sibling, but related through your parents." She walked back to the living room and part kitchen on the other side of the open area against the opposite wall, looking for something she could bring with to eat along the way.
Oscar followed her through the house, watching her with a puzzled expression. "Okay….." He peered over her shoulder as she searched for food. "What are you looking for?"
"A snack to bring with, I'm starving," She said, pulling out an already open box of cheese-its from a cupboard and shrugging, "These will work. Now, on our way again." She patted her pocket to make sure she had her phone and keys before walking to the door and getting her shoes back on, "I'll have to get you some more clothes too before we head back here, I'm guessing you don't want to sleep in those dirty things."
"Oh. I guess not…." Oscar went after her and stuffed his feet into his own shoes as well. "How long will this take, do you think?"
Honor shrugged, standing up straight again, "It varies with every visit, so I have no clue. Hopefully it will be quick though." With both of them having their shoes on and at the door, she flicked off all the other lights in the house and opened the front door for Oscar, "We'll take my truck again, so if you can figure out how to open the door, just get in."
Oscar walked boldly to the truck, put his hand on the passenger door, and did his best to copy Honor's actions from earlier. It didn't work the first time, but on the second try he managed it and climbed inside. "I feel better than I did earlier. Everything isn't so loud and bright. I can't even hear my heart beating or my body breathing as much. How do you stand listening to yourself breathe all the time? It's weird."
She stepped out of her house after him and locked the door before walking out to her truck as well and climbing inside. "You really just learn to ignore it and your ears tune it out," Honor said, nodding, "It's good that you're adjusting to the lights, you're getting used to having a human body." She started the truck again and it rumbled to life as she put on her seatbelt and set the cheese its on the floor near Oscar's feet, "Don't crush that box."
Oscar tucked his feet to the side, buckling his seatbelt and staring out the window at the dark street. "I still don't want a human body though," he said quietly. Then he brightened. "Do you think the humans at the hospital will know how I got stuck here and will be able to fix it?"
"No," She said immediately, shaking her head, "You can't tell anyone what you are. They'll call the Goldenrod agency and you'll be tested on until they kill you. Even if they say they'll try to help you get home." Honor backed out of the driveway and started towards the hospital, "Promise me you won't tell anyone what you are and that you'll stay quiet the whole time? I'll take care of everything, but you'll have to trust me."
Oscar turned to look at Honor with a troubled frown. "The Goldenrod agency….? What's that? Why does it want to kill me?"
Honor glanced over at him momentarily before turning back to the road and explaining, "The Goldenrod agency is a government run program that investigates beings like you. They say they're trying to help you, but in reality I think they just use you for experiments. They probably already noted your presence back on the dirt road and will start searching for you, but if we keep you low profile, then they might not catch you."
He seemed uneasy for another moment, then settled back against the seat and shrugged. "Mmm….they probably couldn't do anything to hurt me. I won't tell anyone, though."
"You don't understand, they're insanely powerful, they could hurt you," She said, seeming a little relieved that he said he wouldn't tell anyone. The hospital was on the opposite side of town from her house, but now the roads were less crowded and the trip seemed to go a little faster. Soon she was pulling into the parking lot and she looked over at him, not getting out of the car just yet, "One last thing. Whatever I say, please go along with it, alright? I'll do the talking, let's just get you fixed up and back to my house with the least hassle as possible."
Oscar paused mulishly, thinking it over. "All right….fine. I'll be quiet…..just as long as they don't do something I don't like."
(Gonna warn you right now, when they go in there, it's almost 100% likely that Oscar will freak out and reveal that he's not human. I'm not saying I don't want them to enter the hospital though, I think it'll be exciting XD And I think Honor will be able to calm him down too, so the freak-out shouldn't last too long. Just giving you a bit of a heads-up ^^)
(Ok XD this'll throw a twist in the story)
Honor sighed and shook her head, opening the door and getting out of the car, "They might do things you don't like Oscar, you have to stay quiet anyway. They're just trying to help you." She locked the car once he opened his door and tucked the keys into her pocket before reaching in and taking her box of cheese its as well. Couldn't forget the snack.
Oscar got out of the truck and turned to the hospital apprehensively. "You said something about stitches….what are those?"
"Basically they sew your skin back shut so it can heal back together," She explained, trying to make it sound as least gruesome and painful as possible, "Then your body heals itself and it'll just leave a scar that will eventually fade so its not terribly noticeable." Honor made sure her car was locked one more time before starting to the building, motioning for him to walk towards her. This was going to be an interesting conversation with the nurse, she coudl already tell.
Oscar pursed his lips, following her with steadier strides than he'd had at first. "Okay….I didn't know this body would heal itself, that's good. I was worried it was much more fragile than that."
Honor glanced at him and shrugged with one shoulder, "I mean, we're still really fragile, but we can heal ourselves to an extent." When they reached the door she paused for a moment, hand hovering over the handle before she yanked the door open and marched inside, going to the first open person at the desk she saw. "Hi, yeah, we need a doctor immediately? My cousin hurt himself really bad and he'll need stitches."
(do you want to rp the medical staff or shall I? I'm good either way)
Oscar went to stand slightly behind Honor, his eyes flicking around nervously. As promised, he said nothing for the time being, but it was clear that the sudden onset of new sounds, sights and smells was making him more tense.
(Could you..possibly? I can't english for the life of me right now)
She glanced over at Oscar and gently reached out, taking his arm lightly and pulling him over so he was standing closer. Honor didn't really notice how tense he was getting though, still talking with the nurse.
