He frowned suspiciously, not flinching away in the slightest as she cleaned his injury. "Hm. I don't think I'd like that. Let's not go there, I don't need to."
His wound, however, was looking more severe by the minute. The gash started at the tip of his nose and trailed upwards, quickly deepening into a scarlet canyon that disappeared into his hair. His skull was very faintly visible beneath it, and it definitely needed stitches…but a there were a couple details about it that didn't quite make sense. For one thing, it was bleeding, yes–but not nearly as much as it should have been. And for another, the surface of his skull was oddly knobby, almost like it wasn't the skull at all, but in fact a set of…..teeth. Very sharp teeth.
"…Actually I think we're going to need too," She said as she continued to clean away blood and uncover the full injury and how bad it looked, "How did you get this in the first place?" Her eyes showed that she was becoming more concerned by the minute as she wiped away the worst of the blood. If they did need to go to the hospital, like she knew they would, they would be in trouble. There would be tons of missing information that they would need and along with the cost of getting stitches.
The Erased One shrugged carelessly. "Woke up with it. It hurt earlier, but it doesn't anymore. Doesn't really feel like anything now." He glanced at himself in the mirror and studied the gash with a distant, almost bored expression. "Are you sure we can't just fix it here, by ourselves?"
Honor nodded, biting the inside of her cheek, "I don't know how to do stitches, and i wouldn't be comfortable trying to fix you up here anyway. I wish I could find a way to fix it here, since it's expensive to get work done at a hospital and I would need to forge a ton of information about you." She set the washcloth in the sink and once again turned the water on, letting it rinse itself out in a way as she walked off, "I'm going to try to find some more painkillers or something incase it starts to hurt more."
He craned his neck to watch her go, puzzled. "Painkillers?" he called after her. "What kind of thing kills pain? Does it eat it or something? I didn't know pain was alive in the first place." He didn't give her time to answer those questions before asking more. "What kind of 'information' about me do we need? What's forging? What's expensive?"
She couldn't help but crack a smile at the array of questions he bombarded her with, though she didn't answer any of them as she looked around for her bottle of ibuprofen. It was the strongest thing she wanted to risk giving him, not knowing if it would react terribly with his body or if it would work.
When Honor didn't answer any of his questions, the young man huffed and slid off the counter to go looking for her. "Do you really think we have to go to this hospital place? I want to stay here….all the light outside went away, so we won't know where to go anyway."
"I don't want to go there, but yes, we'll have to go. The light outside disappearing isn't a big deal either, my headlights work and I can easily remember how to get there," She said, poking her head out of one of the other two doors along the hallway and shaking a bottle of the pills, "Found some ibuprofen, now go sit your but back down mister. I'll be right there." Honor pointed down the hallway back towards the bathroom and then disappeared into the room again, shutting the door behind herself and quickly changing into something more comfortable and clean.
The Erased One reluctantly returned to the bathroom and occupied himself by playing with the water taps on the sink to figure out how they worked. At this point he was deliberately trying not to look at his reflection in the mirror since it made him uncomfortable, and since it was harder to deny the severity of his wound when he was staring right at it. He instead watched in fascination as the water washed the blood and grime off his hands, then soaked the sleeves of his hoodie when he accidentally got too close.
"What is this rushing stuff, Honor?" he called. "It's cold and it's sticking to me but it made the blood on my hands go away. It's made of tiny round see-through bits."
Honor opened the door once again, now dressed in a clean pair of jeans and a sweatshirt as she walked back to the bathroom, "The water? It's…well, water, it helps clean stuff and is something your body needs to survive as well." She opened the bottle of ibuprofen and tipped out a single pill before holding it out to him, "Here, swallow this, I'll get you a glass of water first though so you can drink that after you swallow it."
He took the pill and examined it warily. "Wait…..how does this body eat things? What part is for eating with? Is it the hands?" He pressed his palms together with the pill between them experimentally, but obviously nothing happened.
She held up a finger to symbolize that she was going to be right back before walking off and grabbing a glass. Honor filled it with water and then walked back to the bathroom, chuckling, "You put it in your mouth, the thing that you're talking with. Word of caution though, don't chew it, they taste terrible, just put it in your mouth and drink some water. It'll go down naturally with the water and you'll avoid the terrible taste."
The Erased One frowned, thinking it over, then accepted the glass of water. Placing the pill in his mouth, he almost nervously took a drink of water and swallowed everything carefully. After a moment, he realized that nothing dramatic was going to happen and relaxed again. "Okay, I did it. Now what do we do?"
"Now, I guess I'll have to bring you to the hospital, unless you can somehow magically heal yourself." She looked around and then at the erased one, biting the inside of her cheek again, "So, what name do you want to have? You need to have one when we go to the hospital, so you might as well pick the name you want for yourself right now."
He blinked. "Uh…..I don't know…..what do names usually sound like? Can I pick anything at all, or….are there rules?" He looked pretty lost, having no idea where to even start.
She laughed lightly when she remembered he wouldn't know where to start at all with names, motioning for him to stay there, "I'll try to find a list of names just to give you some ideas, stay there." Honor slipped back into the hallway and disappeared into the living room, grabbing a random piece of paper and her laptop. She didn't want to try to explain the internet right now to him, so she was going to bring him a list of names that she found instead of the laptop.
He waited with carefully maintained patience, fiddling with the edge of his sleeve. He briefly turned the water in the sink back on, but it wasn't interesting anymore so he turned it off again. After a moment, he noticed the door to the bathroom closet and stepped over to it curiously. It took him a while to figure out how the doorknob worked, but eventually he got it open and started snooping around inside. There were plenty of odd items and knickknacks to keep him busy in there while he waited.
The closet was pretty diverse in all the items in it, from a stack of towels, to soap, some of Honor's makeup, brush and tons of other things to entertain him. Honor meanwhile, was scribbling down as many possible names as she could find and thought were alright. She knew she couldn't waste to much time though, as the sooner they got to te hospital the better.
The bright colors of the makeup attracted his attention and he started picking through it carefully, pulling out a few bottles of nail polish and an eyeshadow pallet. He lined them up in the edge of the sink and began slowly but determinedly figuring out how to open the bottles so he could get to the pretty liquid inside.
(lol I know almost nothing about makeup, hope I used the right terms XDD)
(lol yeah you did use the right terms, and I can always help with names of makeup stuff if you need me too XD)
With one more satisfied look over, Honor finally shut her laptop and started back to the bathroom with a sheet full of names, everything ranging from Alexander to Zeke for him to choose from. "I have some names for you to pick from," She called as she walked down the hallway, stopping in the doorway of the bathroom and watching with an amused look as to what he was up to.
(tyyy TvT)
The Erased One paused with the nail polish brush half-way to his mouth, turning to face her. "Hi. What is this stuff? It's really colorful. Is it good, like water?"
(Np!)
"Don't eat that, it's toxic if you eat it," She said with a laugh, walking over and grabbing the brush before he could get it close to his mouth, "It's nailpolish, for painting your nails, like this." Honor took the bright polish and painted one of her fingernails, looking over at him, "See?" She set the paper with the list of names on the counter and nodded to it, "There are some choices you could choose from for a name."
(One sec, I'm gonna find a random name generator real quick)
He squinted at the paper for a minute, slowly setting down his handful of nail polish bottles and picking up the list instead. "These squiggles are weird…..is this what words actually look like for you humans?"
(He'll learn how to read in a couple minutes, he just needs to find the pattern and use his big magical brain lol)
(XD ok)
Honor shrugged, "That's written english, but there are tons of other languages as well." While he was occupied with the names, she took advantage of the distraction and capped all of the nail polish, closing the eyeshadow pallet as well and scooping them all up to put them away, "I can help you read if you need too, and you can choose from the names I list off."
"Hold on….." The Erased One's eyes were narrowed in concentration as he studied the names. For a minute the air seemed almost electric, the way it had back on the country road. "You say this one "Ben", right?" he asked, pointing. "And Bran-don, and Collin, and Da-vid, and….um….Everett? Am I doing good?"
