(Yeah sorry XD I fell asleep)
Honor bit the inside of her cheek and studied the gash, answering truthfully, "I'm not sure if we can get it all the way gone or fixed, but I know there are ways for a scar to fade even a little." She shrugged and pushed his door closed after him before going around to the other side and hopping up onto her seat. "Buckle up," She said, pulling her own seatbelt on and glancing over at him.
"Um…" He watched her closely for a minute, then fumblingly found his own seat belt and buckled himself in. "What is this thing we're sitting in, anyway? What does it do?" He still seemed a bit upset and scatterbrained, but by now his curiosity was starting to get the better of him.
"My truck?" A proud smile broke onto her face and she looked ahead, turning the ignition and the car rumbled to life. "It's a form of transportation, one way we get around." She made sure once again that he was buckled up before starting to drive, being careful to keep from going too fast or hitting dents so he wouldn't get too spooked.
The young man's eyes widened, and he quickly turned to stare outside at the passing scenery. "How does it work? Is it alive?" Then he frowned. "Wait, no….it's obviously not alive. It fells like…..there's fire in it somewhere??"
She shook her head and laughed, "It's not alive, it's powered by an engine, I can explain them to you later." Her eyes focused on the road and she settled into a rhythm of driving and every so often glancing at him momentarily to make sure he was alright.
He fell silent for a while, staring at the dashboard in deep concentration. Finally he spoke again. "What is your 'home' like? Are there other humans there?"
(I gtg for a while, seeya later!)
(See ya!)
"My home? It's a fixer upper that I bought fairly cheap, and no, I live alone." She replied, turning onto the paved road that led to the main street of town. Honor drummed her fingers against the steering wheel as she had to stop at one of the few intersections in town to turn onto her road.
"Good," the Erased One replied. "Alone is good. I don't want to meet anyone else right now."
Once they were inside city limits, he suddenly had a lot more to look at. He sat up and his head switched back and forth rapidly as he tried to take in all the signs, houses, and other cars around them. He kept starting to speak and ask questions, but then something else would distract him and he'd close his mouth again. He bristled warily when they passed a noisy intersection, and flinched at a flashing sign over a fast-food restaurant. At one point he put his hand on his chest and paused, looking surprised.
"There's….something inside me that's bumping around," he said, sounding a little nervous. "I can hear it. It goes thump-thump really loud."
As hard as Honor tried to not laugh, she had to eventually, looking over at him for a moment, "That's your heart, the thing that pumps blood around your body so you stay alive." She could see how he reacted at the intersections and with the lights and she decided to take a more back way for the last block or so to her house, turning down a quieter side road lined by houses and the occasional light post.
(oops I missed ya! I gotta go to bed, but I'll drop this here anyway ^^; )
The Erased One snorted with half-hearted bravado. "I don't need something like that to keep me alive. This body doesn't even belong to me." He paused and glanced at Honor with the same hopeful look as before. "I won't be stuck with it for much longer, will I? You can help me….go back to normal?"
(I'm thinking her house looks something like this?: https://theartofsimple.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Outside-During02edited.jpeg)
"I…I'm not sure, I'll try though," She admitted, pulling into her driveway, "I don't know if it's possible to separate your body from..well, yourself." Honor shut her truck off with a small shrug and unbuckled before opening the door and going around to his side to help.
(ooohhh her house is so cute! XD)
The young man awkwardly untangled himself from the seat belt by himself, but didn't know how to open the car door and was stuck inside until Honor rescued him. "Is that big thing a 'house'?" he asked, pointing at her home. "Why is it so big if you're the only one that it belongs to?"
(Yeah XD)
Honor shrugged and smiled, motioning for him to get out of the truck, "Yes, that's my house, and it's actually not that big, compared to other houses. I'll give you a tour of the interior before getting you settled in." She was quite proud of her little house and it suited her needs quite well, as really just a place to live and sleep.
He staggered onto the driveway and had to pause and steady himself before heading towards the front door. "Okay….ugh, this body keeps pulling air in and out of its chest. Is it supposed to do that?"
"Yes it's supposed to do that," She replied with a laugh, "That's called breathing, and your body also has to do that to stay alive." Honor was sure to walk alongside him until they got to the door, pulling her keys out of her pocket and unlocking it so he could walk in.
He followed her cautiously, taking in his surroundings as he adjusted to the silence inside the building. "This body is so weak and helpless and complicated. What if there's something bad in the air while I'm breathing? What if there's no air at all?"
(Uggggg I don't know how to describe how her house is decorateddddddd XD i have like a picture in my mind but I don't know how to write it)
Honor shrugged, flicking on the light that quickly illuminated the open front end of the house, with a small living room right as they walked in, "I mean..that's how people die, we can't survive without oxygen. Anyway, off that topic, welcome to my home."
(oof I getcha ^^; Is it more kind of simple or cluttered or feminine or practical or or or…?)
He jumped slightly when the light came on, staring around curiously. "Huh…..is a house supposed to protect your body from bad air and….stuff?" He was obviously making wild guesses. He brushed his hand across his forehead absentmindedly, smearing blood from his hands and head-wound all over his face. "It's warmer in here."
(I'd say it's pretty simple and practical, though it's clearly a place with a lot of meaning to her and objects that mean a lot to her if that makes sense XD)
"I mean, it's really a place to stay safe and warm, to give yourself someplace to call home and I guess give a safe space to sleep and eat?" She said, actually having to think about what she would describe a house as. With a gesture around at the living room, a gray couch against one wall and a coffee table scattered with a few books along with a TV against another wall, "This is my living room, I'll show you the kitchen, bedrooms later. Right now though, let's get that gash cleaned up." Honor crouched down and undid her shoes before kicking them off and leaving them by the door, then motioning for him to follow her.
(ahh sounds very nice ^^)
The Erased One solemnly copied Honor and removed his shoes, then shuffled after her into the depths of the house. "How do we do that? What is this red stuff on my hands anyway? You said it was made by my heart?"
Honor nodded, leading him down the one hallway and through the farthest door down to the bathroom, "First I'm going to wash all the blood off, thats the red stuff that your heart pumps around and that is currently on your hands." She flicked the light on again along with the light above the giant mirror, brightening up the room tremendously as she started the faucet running, "Then from there I'll see how much work needs to be done or if I need to bring you to the hospital."
(I gtg for a while, seeya!)
The Erased One instinctively squeezed his eyes shut to block out the light, coming to a halt in front of the sink. "What's the hospital?" he asked, repeatedly trying to open his eyes only to close them again.
(see ya!)
"It's where humans go to get help if they're hurt or sick," She explained, opening one of the drawers below the sink and pulling out a washcloth. Honor waited until the water was warm before getting it damp and patting the counter next for the sink, "Can you come sit up here? I need to have the light while I work."
He eyed the counter for a minute before stepping forward and clambering all the way onto it, then very clumsily turning around and dangling his legs over the edge. "Are there other humans at the hospital?"
She nodded, gently bringing the rag up to his forehead and gently starting to wipe away the blood around the actual gash away, "Yeah, there are lots of other humans, both people who need help getting healed and the people who help with the actual healing and taking care of the people."
