Setting: Modern-day America, preferably in the Midwest somewhere but I'm open to suggestions.

Concept/Plot: A few years ago, these beings started just….appearing on Earth. They were obviously not human. They had strange powers and seemed just as confused as the humans were by their existence. None remembered who they were or how they'd gotten here. Some were kind and gentle, others were wild and dangerous, but all shared one memory, one name: the Erased Ones.
In time, an organization called Goldenrod was created to study, capture, and control the Erased Ones so that they couldn't cause any more havoc on Earth. There are rumors that their motives are not as pure and good as they pretend, but none know for sure–and at any rate, they are the only ones capable of protecting society from this otherworldly group of beings and whatever dangers they bring with them from afar.

Our Roles: Whoever joins this can choose to be either 1. A human civilian who encounters an Erased One, or 2. A trainee at the Goldenrod HQ. This second option will be more limited and complicated, since I'll have to explain your job to you a bit, but it's totally up to you.
I will be an Erased One who has just arrived on Earth. Fair warning, I'll also be roleplaying as a variety of human and non-human characters besides my main character, so if you don't enjoy being outnumbered, this ain't the rp for you XD

Rules:

  • Keep it PG 13, please. There will be some blood and violence in this rp, but let's try not to go overboard. The same goes for romance. I'm open to it, but as someone who's personally ace, I'm not interested in going into it with much detail. (That said, a soft platonic or fluff ship would be more than welcome.)
  • Please mind your grammar and spelling, and try to avoid one-line replies. I'm not going to harp on this, but I think we'll both have more fun if we put some effort into the rp ^^
  • I have some ideas for the plot and such, but if you have ideas of your own, feel free to let me know! It's easier to rp when we both communicate.
  • The whole point of this setting is that the origin of the Erased Ones is a mystery, so keep that in mind. Your character may theorize or ask questions, but they cannot "know" what's really going on.
  • This is a personal pet peeve I have, so take it with a grain of salt: Your character should act naturally as much as possible–e.g. not 'perfect' or constantly snarky. If something big/terrible/shocking happens, please don't have your character brush it off as if they were expecting it or ''too cool to get upset''. I work hard to lead the story in certain ways, and you can acknowledge that my having your character act appropriately. I promise I will always do the same for you.

Important notes:
I have a part-time job, so I will not be here at all on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some weekends. I'll try to be transparent about when I'm available, but I apologize in advance if I disappear randomly in the future ^^;
I will post some general info on Erased Ones and Goldenrod below this, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask! This world is from a story I'm writing so I apologize if it's overly complex X'D
I really just want a super surreal soft rp where my character is lost and scared and alone and your character makes friends with them, and together we fight the world TwT Is this too much to ask?

Info about Erased Ones: (sorry it's so long)
First of all, they are not necessarily gods. That's just a theory some people have about them. Others say they're angels, or demons, or some kind of alien race. Nobody knows why they're coming to Earth or what their mission is. And to be fair, the Erased Ones don't seem to know either. Most can't remember anything about their lives before Earth–not even their names.
All Erased Ones are trapped in human form while on Earth, but some have the ability to shapeshift or warp their bodies. A manifestation is when they briefly reveal their true forms when using large amounts of power. Looking directly at a Manifestation can cause blindness, madness, and even death.

There are five levels, or types, of Erased One. Level 1 is least powerful, Level 5 is most powerful.
Level 1: Pretty much all they can do is read the energy in their environment and psychically connect with others. They only survive on Earth for a few years, and their physical form gradually fads over time. They are very common and not dangerous at all.
Level 2: They control the elements of weather, fire, nature, and water. They aren't much stronger than Level 1's, but their powers are flashier. They can shift between human and animal forms, but doing so shortens their lifespan. They are fairly common and not very dangerous or cunning.
Level 3: Much more dangerous than the levels below them. They are wild and unpredictable and often their physical form is grotesquely mangled or mutated in some way. They are very intelligent and short-tempered, and can take much more damage than a human before they die. They can be difficult to reason with and control, but luckily they are less common.
Level 4: Very rare. Their lifespan is closer to that of a human, and they are very powerful. They control energy in its raw state, often as light or electricity. Some can dampen the abilities of other Erased Ones. They can also alter how humans perceive reality. Level 4's are usually peaceful, if skittish and shy, and will only attack if cornered.
Level 5: Only three recorded Level 5's exist on Earth. Very little is known about them, as very few humans survive encounters with them. It's thought that they may live very long lives. They are incredibly powerful–able to warp reality, shapeshift at will, use mind control, cloak their energy, and possibly extend their awareness beyond their bodies. Their current locations, motives, and weaknesses remain, for now, a mystery.

((Aww tysm!! >w< Have some more lol, and then I'll post a character sheet!))

Info about Goldenrod:
Goldenrod is a government-funded organization devoted to understanding Erased Ones and protecting the general populous from them. They are a relatively new group, but already they have located and contained hundreds of Erased Ones at their four facilities. There are different departments a Goldenrod Agent may join, including Research, Security, Public Outreach, the Hunter Unit, and the Empath unit, to name a few. They mostly keep to themselves, and little is known about what they actually do with the Erased Ones they catch, but they assure the public that they're here to help both Erased Ones and humans alike get accustomed to each other. Their symbol is a stalk of goldenrod surrounding a cluster of white stars, and their founder is Agent William Peters.

(That sounds good! I'm really fine with any location, though the midwest is what I'm most familiar with if you want to have that be the location :) )

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

(Okay! Eee I have a bit of time before bed, so I'll set the scene real quick)
Everett was a quiet, isolated town–and it seemed even more so at night. It was getting dark, and the warm summer wind that had been blowing all day was finally dying down. The sky went from blue to gold to vermilion to deep violet, and a few stars began glimmering to life between the dark, wispy clouds.
But as the shadows lengthened, something in the air seemed to change. An odd, distant buzzing noise filled the town, fading in and out erratically. Most people barely noticed it, but the animals heard it loud and clear. Dogs whined and barked, cats hid under beds, and birds flocked restlessly in search of quieter places to roost. Even a few deer braved the dangers of the town streets to cross the overpass and get away from the sound. On the darkest part of the horizon, faint flashes of light appeared, but there was no sign of a storm approaching.
Something had arrived in Everett. Something that never, ever belonged there.

(There, I hope that wasn't too dramatic XDDD If you want to set your character somewhere in town next, I can figure out where to put my character so we actually meet lol)

@gracehustle

(XD ok, also srty for the trash start, I'm having a major writers block moment today and cant word)
The farm was one of Honor's favorite spots in small town Everett. It was small and run by her parents, meaning she usually picked up the extra shifts whenever workers didn't come in, like she was doing as the sun grew lower in the sky. She didn't mind the work -feeding the animals, locking up and doing final checks- especially since it meant as she drove home she got to see the sky shift from its golds to violets. Her old baby blue pickup rumbled down the dirt road away from the barn and her parents farm as she drove in towards town, windows down so she could feel the cool night breeze. She didn't even say anything to break the silence as her truck rolled towards the small town and her house she was eager to get back to.

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

(That's a great start fam! I like Honor already >w<)
All at once, the persistent buzzing violently increased in volume, and a blinding flash of light lit up the road and the fields surrounding it. Some wild animal in the ditch gave a screech, dashing off into the night. Then, the light and buzz disappeared as quickly as they'd arrived–and when they did, they revealed what looked like a human lying in the center of the road ahead.
