Skye gavehim the equivalent of a hug, "Hopefully that doesn't happen anytime soon…"
(Ha… it probably will lol)
"Hopefully not… they kinda suck. It's been a while. Do you think Marco's nearly done?"
"He'll be back soon.." said Skye.
"Alrighty…" Lucas leaned against Skye, tensing up his muscles so he wouldn't be shivering.
Skye stayed there for a few minutes longer, until Marco came back with a pair of rabbits in his jaw.
"Oh, you're back!" The fire had started to die down, so Lucas relit it. "Ready to cook?"
Marco laughed, "That's Skye's job," he said, setting it down and switching places with Skye.
"Alright…" Lucas carefully attached the rabbits to some sticks he'd gathered earlier and held them over the fire. "It may not be the best thing you've ever tasted, but hey. It's food."
(Lucas: tastes food awh it's not even sALtEd)
Skye quickly pulled out a dagger, "You have to gut and skin them first" he said, chuckling, pulling them back and doing that in about 5 minutes, then replacing them over the flames.
"Yeah… forgot about that part." Lucas helped cook the rabbits the rest of the way, checking to make sure they were fully cooked before taking them off the fire.
Skye smiled, watching him carefully, while Marco stayed in the form of an animal with fur for warmth.
Lucas winced as he pulled off the leg of the rabbit. He hated doing stuff like that, since it made him feel like he was hurting the animal (even though it's dead lmao). He took a bit of the meat, which was okay for what it was.
Skye took a share, along with Marco, leaving more for Lucas. Skye ate hungrily, not bothering to try and hide how hungry he actually was.
Once they finished the food, Lucas topped up the fire and lay next to it with Skye.
Skye smiled, still in human form as he munch hungrily on his share, forcing himself to pace it
"This is nice… if it weren't so cold at night, I don't think I'd be opposed to living like this for a good long while."
Skye nodded, shifting again to wrap himself around the other.
Lucas yawned and eventually fell asleep next to the fire with Skye. (Next morning? Unless you're wanting something else to happen.)
Skye smiled at him, settling down to watch the stars while the other used him as a pillow.
(Yeah, do you mind starting?)
Lucas woke up at the crack of dawn, looking up at the morning sun blearily. I shouldn't wake them… He got up as quietly as possible and went out alone to look for fruits and such for them to eat.
Skye had fallen asleep sometime earlier that night, and was sleeping peacefully. Marco was perched in a tree nearby, head under his wing, since he had taken the form of a raptor.
Lucas managed to find enough edible fruits in the forest, and limped back to the camp. He'd tripped over a root and probably sprained his ankle, but he was pretty much just ignoring it. The pain was nowhere near the level he was used to, so it didn't much affect him.
Skye had started to stirr in the morning light, noticing something was missing but not fully awake enough to realize what.
Once he'd managed to get back to camp, he set the food down and sat down beside Skye, wincing slightly as he rubbed his ankle.
Skye instantly curled around him, realizing what it was. "Where were you?"
