Joey nodded again, flushing a bit when Sol said his sister wanted to meet him. "R-Really?" He asked, curious and taken aback. "She wants to meet me?" I guess that means he's been talking about me with his friends and family, then. He flushed more at this realization, drawing his wings up a bit. "I-I mean, I'd love to, if there's a way for us to set up a meeting or whatever…"
Sol gave Joey a soft smile, fluttering his wings happily. This was going better than he hoped. “If you’re comfortable with it, I can see if she’s free sometime this week. Would it be alright if her mate, Alistar, came along? You can say no, I just know that she’ll ask.”
"Y-Yeah, that's alright… I'm fine to meet whoever." He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, still visibly flustered. "You'll be there too though, right?"
“Of course, estello,” Sol replied with a smile. “I wouldn’t leave you to my sister alone. She can be rather… intimidating. Especially when it comes to me; I’ll always be her baby brother.”
Joey nodded again, fidgeting with his wings. "Alright… do you think she'll try and interrogate me or something?"
“She’ll definitely ask you questions, but she knows I trust you, so she might ease up,” Sol answered with an apologetic smile. “If you wanted to leave at any time, we could.”
"Alright… that'll probably be fine." Joey kept toying with his feathers, seeming nervous. "So you think she'll like me?"
“How could she not, sweetheart?” Sol replied, brushing his wing against Joey’s. How could anyone not love this angel?
Joey flushed harder and buried his face in Sol's shoulder. "I… I-I dunno, she just… what if she doesn't think I'm right for you or something?"
Running a gentle hand through Joey’s hair, Sol laughed quietly. “Trust me, estello, she’ll like you almost as much as I do, don’t worry.”
Joey nodded a bit and huddled closer. "If you say so… when should we meet with her?" He asked softly, his voice a bit muffled.
“She’s got a busy schedule, I’ll have to text her later and ask when she’s free,” he replied, wrapping his arm back around Joey. So cute…
"Mmkay… sounds good to me. I'm free most evenings, so I should be alright to meet up whenever." Joey yawned and stretched out his wings for a moment.
“I’ll let her know,” Sol said, shifting so that Joey could settle more comfortably.
Joey smiled softly and trilled, closing his eyes as he huddled up on Sol's chest. He felt a bit small, but not in a bad way. He liked being able to be held like this. "Mm… at least I know now that you're big and strong and able to protect me from all the bad people, yeah?" He smiled cheekily up at Sol, his cheeks still lightly flushed.
Sol laughed, eyes crinkling as he looked at Joey fondly. “I would protect you with my life, estello,” he said softly, stroking his wing.
"Awww~…" Joey couldn't keep from blushing harder, but he was still grinning, and he trembled a bit at the touch. "Thaaanks~… I don't want you getting hurt for my sake, though."
“I would not hesitate to protect those I love,” Sol said, softening his serious words with a gentle hug.
"But Sol~…" Joey whined, shifting a bit in Sol's lap. "I would be sad if you got hurt!"
“I know, estello,” Sox murmured with a soft smile, burying his nose in Joey’s fluffy hair. “But I heal quickly, and I would rather have you safe.”
Joey sighed softly. "But I should be able to protect myself too! I had training and everything!" He insisted.
“You’re right, I know,” Sol sighed. “You are capable, but I will always want to protect you. It is a part of who I am, estello.”
"I know, I know…" Joey stuck his tongue out a bit, still pouting. "Angels do a lot of battle training from a really young age. I guess I haven't done much of that stuff in a while, though…"
“You shouldn’t have to if it’s not what you want,” Sol said softly. “I want you to be safe and happy.”
Joey shrugged, adjusting his wings so they would be more comfortable. "But I can do it sometimes! I-I mean, you're not always around me 24/7, and I don't want you getting hurt either."
