Melanie looked around (I'm assuming that she can't see him), still unable to see Jax. "Do you remember before? I'm the girl, Melanie. I'm sorry to go looking for you, I just thought the monsters might've gotten you. I don't know why, but the other two people-I think they're my friends-they didn't follow me. I'm sorry, I just…I want to care for all the people here. When I saw you, I didn't know there were others here like me, suffering from the doctors and the monsters. I wanted to make sure you were safe…I should leave, I'm probably terrifying you now, right?" Melanie sighed. "I'm sorry…"
"You're going to hurt me so why should I go down? They said that they wanted to help me, but then they hurt me." He hissed, his nails digging into the soft wood of the cabinet.
"How could I hurt you? I don't have anything to hurt you with." Melanie puts her hands up, showing that besides the oversized shirt and pants she wore, she had nothing. "I'm too weak to defend myself, let alone pick a fight."
"Mentally, everyone can hut mentally." He whispered, sounding as if this was a recited thing and it was, his sister made sure he knew.
Fox gets up, and slowly walks off.
"Mentally? Huh, I didn't know I could do that. I mean, I guess that's what the doctors did to me. They told me I saw things when I didn't. But then, one day, I did. I mean, the worst that I could do is tell you what goes on in my head, what isn't real that I see."
"Where is this place? I just went through the vents…" He whispered to her, inching to the ground so they could speak face to face.
"Vents? I came in through the tunnel. It could've held monsters. It was very dark, scary too. This place…I don't know. I've lived here since I was…uh…" Melanie has to think a minute before responding, "Oh! Since I was five. I think I forgot how old I am…I've been here a long time." She gives Jax a small smile, happy to talk. Even if Jax was scared, it was a start.
"… Me too." Jax said, setting his feet on the floor and standing up. He wanted to get some supplies and stash them in the vents.
Fox decides to go through the vent, when they came up to the split, they went straight like the other two did. They see the opening and watches them from above, dangling their legs.
Melanie looks at Jax, confused, but not questioning his actions. She slowly stands, unsure if Jax would be scared, and walks to the other side of the room and back again, and she starts pacing, back and forth, back and forth, trying to keep herself calm.
Fox slowly lowers himself down, not trying to scare either of them.
Melanie notices Fox first, and her eyes widen, her hand instinctively grabbing Jax's arm to get his attention.
"You. W-why are you here? You didn't care about Jax or I enough to follow either of us and now you follow us? To do what? Jax warned me that people hurt him, and they hurt me, too. I-I don't know if I can trust you…"
Fox steps back, and moves into a corner. They curl up into a ball and try to blend into the shadows, failing miserably.
Jax flinches away, his eyes wide with fright. "Nope." Was all he said, turning around and walking back to the high place, climbing up it without a word.
(To Fox, not Jax)
"I didn't mean to-" Melanie pauses, and her face turns stern. "No. I mean what I say when I say that I don't know you well enough, and you don't know me enough. When I see someone hurting, I try to help. When I know that they're okay and they help me is when I can trust them. You-you don't know what isolation can do to you, how people can talk negatively about you while you're in the same room, unable to do anything because you're too weak, and when your wrists are too thin for the chains, they…they nail them to a block of wood and makes sure you don't do anything in protest or they'll let you watch your family die in front of you. Or they'll make sure you'll live forever alone for the rest of your life. That they'll make sure that you die a slow and torturous death. You don't know me. You don't know what I've seen, both real and in my head." Melanie's voice drops, "I've seen them die, over and over again in my dreams…I've seen them risk everything for me to get better, only to die in the end!"
Fox just writes "I DO! I'M SORRY!" on the floor (with their goo), gets as small as they can, and start crying their eyes out.

(Oh lmao, also Jax is the nickname of one of our (CoolCat's and I's) IRL friends)
(That was me writing a freaking essay xD)
"No, you're not. Yes, you feel pity, but I doubt you understand why I kept going to Jax. I was certain you two were going to be fine, but I was scared for Jax. I was scared that they were going to get him. Didn't you? Or were you kept in your…dilusions? I've had no friends, and I don't know where we stand. Jax," Melanie turns her head in his direction, "He won't hurt us, but I don't know what he'll do…He's stronger than me, and I can't run, not as fast as you."

(Melanie could also be called Mel…so 4/4)
Fox looks around for something to cut the stitches on their mouth, finally seeing a bloody scalpel. They quick cut the stitches, throw down the scalpel and instantly yell. "Please! Stop! I'm sorry! I understand what it's like! I was locked in a FUCKING lab for years, alone, with no one to help! Just stop!"

(oh, i forgot, GTG for now.)
(Oh nooooo
Lex could you somehow have Jax escape?)
Jax's eyes scurried around the room, a small smile growing on his face as he sees a vent that is open and not all sharp and stuff. He climbs down from the high place, walking over to the vent and ducking down. "Ahem, bye motherfuckers." He said, climbing into the vent and making his way away from those people.
"Wait, Jax. I'm sorry. I tried to calm you, I was giving you space. I still want to actually meet you, please…?" Fox begs.
"You…you made him run away…you made him run…away…You…made him…run…" Melanie collapsed from where she stood, erupting in cries of fear, anguish, and sadness. She was too confused to know who her friends or enemies were.
Jax is pretty prone to mood swings so he is basiclly just going to keep switching..///
