(yessss)
"hes blind?" that struck a nerve, defintely struck a nerve. her eyes shadowed over, she got up and pushed the girl out of the room and shut the door in her face. thats when the tears started. soft sobs escaped her, she could never wipe away enough tears. "Im sorry nikko…" she whispered in her sobbing.
Laura stumbled at the sudden reaction, body slamming back into the wall when she was shoved out of the room. The door shut, and she let out a quiet string of profanity as she rubbed the back of her head. She was completely done with this.
Nikko stirred at the loud slamming of the door, he slowly sat up hearing the soft cries. He couldnt see anything but he recognized the soft sobs coming out of someone. is that?…. "Sonya?" he asked out as he heard the crying get quieter, then louder, enough for her hear them on the otherside.
She got up and walked over to him, he reached forward and pulled her in for a bear hug. "hey its okay..im okay." his spoke soflty and soothingly.
"But your blind…Your art…" he smiled at her, wiping her tears.
"I'll be fine not doing art sony…Im alive arent i?"
she sniffled, pouting. "well yes but-"
"No buts. Everything will be okay, you here me? i may be blind but i can just figure out how to navigate this way. Now head home to mom. she needs you to protect her and help her get through this." He let her go.
She sighed, "Okay…" she got up and exited the room looking down as she exited the house.
Laura had finally got up when the girl came out. She gave Sonya a slight snarl as she left, walking into her bedroom. She glanced over to Nikko, sighing weakly. "Well, you're awake." She mumbled, pulling her hair up out of her face. She rubbed at the back of her head, groaning lowly. Goodness her head hurt. "I'm assuming you talked to your sister."
He noticed her rubbing the back of her head and groaning lowly. "yeah, sorry if she's a bit…rough. She is a lot stronger and protective of me." He chuckled a little bit. "You okay?"
((But… how?? He… he can't see??))
"I'm fine." Laura replied more sharply than intended. But she didn't bother to correct her tone. "She's a child. I'm a full-grown woman." She insisted, picking up the bundle of clothes. "You need to change out of those clothes. You're going to get blood all over my house."
(I keep forgetting he can't see)
((Lol, I was joking. It's totally fine.))
"yeah sorry for everything." He put a hand to his neck. He was just waiting for her to hand him the clothes since he didn't want to reach out for them in mid air.
Gently she plopped the bundle on top of him, starting back towards the door. "Just yell for me when you're done. We can figure out what to do from there." She mumbled, hesitating as she stood in the doorway.
"okay. Thank you for doing this for me. I know you didn't have too and probably didn't want to." He clutched the clothes to his chest tightly. "thank you for the clothes and I'm sorry to burden you like this."
Laura stopped herself from just brushing it off, cringing a little. He probably felt bad or something, and she hated that idea. "Don't worry about it. It's no big deal." She insisted, ready to pull the door shut.
"okay," was all he said. He just sat there waiting, waiting for her to leave so he could change.
With that, she did shut the door. But she didn't leave. She just sat outside his door, knowing she wouldn't be able to help him if she couldn't hear him.
He slowly put on the shirt, standing up to put on the rest of his clothes, you couldnt hear but he's trembling just a little bit.
((Would they just call each other by there first names? Or do they have aliases?))
Laura was mostly silent as she waited, gently hitting her head against the wall. She drummed her fingers against the floor, waiting to hear him call her. But while she waited, she enjoyed the little bit of quiet she was getting. She had a feeling this was probably going to be the only bit of peace she was going to get for a while. She wasn't looking forward to that.
(I feel like they have aliases but whatever you want my dude-) he finished putting on clothes, and reached around the bed for his bag. Not finding it he just sat there in silence for a while. "i-im done." He could barely beheard from behind the door.
((M'kay. Just thought I'd ask.))
Laura got up when she heard his faint call, gently pushing the door open. She glanced around the room, before focusing her gaze on him. "I probably need to wash your clothes. Where are they?" She asked a lot softer than she had been talking to him, before.
He had stopped trembling before she came in. She pointed to a stack of clothes on the edge of the bed. "u-um, wheres my bag?" He mumbled.
"Bag? Oh, it's out in the main room. By the door." She stated simply, grabbing his clothes. "I can get it for you. I just need a minute." She spoke to him softly, still, making her way back over to the door. "There's some pain medicine sitting on the side table, if you want it."
"Right, Thank you." He said when she was the door, having a previous thank you as well. He remembered earlier "why shouldn't I just kill you?" Why was she being so nice and soft to him now? Had something changed? He managed a sigh. He grabbed the pain medicine and the water and drank it.
She was honestly too tired to keep up her facade. As much as she hated to admit it, he had been right. She wasn't as bad as she seemed. Sure, she was still pretty irked, but she wasn't as angry as she was attempting to be. Dropping his filthy clothes in the washing machine, she started it and headed to get his bag. Grabbing it, she carried it back to her room, bringing it over to the bed. "Here."
Too shy to actually ask any of the questions out loud he took the bag from her and smiled at her. "thank you." He set the bag down next to him and dug in the bag, pulling out a sketchbook, he set it on his lap, he couldn't see but he could feel the art. He opened the sketchbook and ran a hand along the page feeling out the lines of the sketches, he continued to do this eventually tears started to flow and he didn't even seem to notice.
Laura hadn't left the room, just going around picking things up. Even if he couldn't see how much of a mess her room was, she'd feel better if she picked things up. Maybe to keep him from tripping, and getting hurt. She stood up straight, turning around to look at him. "Um, are you alright?" She asked, seeing the tears running down his face.
