"Sorry, it's a habit, ack I did again." He put a hand to his neck, pouting a little bit. "when I was younger I used to have the worst stutter. It still comes up when I get extremely nervous or upset." He looked down ward
Laura glanced over to him at the suddenness of his admitting to that. "Really? I guess I didn't think much of it." She shrugged, letting her plate sit on her lap. "I mean, I guess I noticed."
"yeah it dosent show up as much as it used. I figured if I was going to be a superhero that I should get it under control." He looked away. "Sorr- I really need to stop.."
Laura snickered some, looking over to him. "I just want you to stop apologizing for things you really don't need to. I mean, you use the word sorry every five minutes." She teased some, her voice sounding a little off for her harmless teasing.
"it's a stupid habit, I used say sorry every 60 seconds." He chuckled a little bit mixed in with a sigh. He noticed her voice off but didn't say anything about it. He liked her new softness.
"No offense, but I'd probably kill you if it was that bad." Laura stated simply, not leaving much room to figure out if she was serious or not. She was her, after all. "But I mean, if you're at least trying to stop, I can look past it."
"yeah none taken. It took my sister a while to get used to it, since we're pretty much opposites in the personality category." He kept a hand on his neck chuckling a little.
Laura nodded, setting her plate down before scooting back on her bed. "I'm pretty sure her and I are pretty similar in personality. Which might not be a good thing, because it's not exactly the best one to have for making friends. I think me and her clash worse than you and I do."
"yeah I can actually see that a little bit, despite the fact of your being very soft right now." He chuckled a little bit. "but yeah she has always has trouble finding people to be close with. She usually sticks around me to protect me, I'm glad she didn't come with me when I encountered them."
Laura's smile dropped, and her jaw tightened when he mentioned the fact she was being soft. That struck a nerve, in deed. She kept her teeth gritted. "Right." She replied in a harsher tone, definitely trying to get her message across.
He noticed the new harshness, frowning a little bit at it. He knew he shouldn't have brought it up. Well it was nice while it lasted anyway.
Laura got up from the bed, gathering their dishes. "I'm going to wash these." She stated simply, her voice still sharp as she started to leave the room.
"okay.' he handed her his dish, noticing the fresh sharpness of it.
After taking the plate, she was off to wash them off. She was back again, still seeming stiff after the mention of being soft. "If they're keeping an eye on my house, we should be able to find them. Maybe track them down, and where they're coming from."
"Yeah, defintely." He nodded to her. "I wish i could help keep a look out." He said wish instead of sorry this time.
"It's fine." She muttered some, going over to her closet. She pulled out a box from up in the top of the closet, groaning a little at the heaviness of it. She dropped it to the floor, letting it make a thud before she opened it. "It's stupid, but I've got a bunch of random crap for surveillance. Including drones. There's a couple teenagers down the street that kept getting it stuck in my yard, so I kept it."
He flinched at the thud, before hearing her start talking. "jeez grinch much?" he chuckled a little bit. "i think its cool that you still have them though."
"You'd get tired of it too, if a couple teenage boys tried spying on you constantly." Laura huffed, pulling out the drone. She set it aside, looking for the controller she had rigged out since the boys still had the original one.
"Why were they trying to spy on you?" he tilted hishead a little bit to the side. "i honestly am still a huge pushover so i would probably just continue to give it back until my sister eventually smashes them."
"Why do you think? They're teenage boys, and I'm a decently attractive younger woman." Laura shrugged, turning both the items on. "And I'm not making assumptions, I heard them talking about it when they left. I stopped giving it back after that."
he cringed at there reasoning. "Well thats teenage boys for you…can say I have ever done that."
"I'm not saying all are like that, hell, I even know a few who aren't. I'm just saying a large portion of teenage boys are like that. And they think it's okay." Laura shrugged again, getting up off the floor. "So I felt I was teaching them a lesson. If I catch them doing it again, I won't hesitate to tell their parental guardians."
"well it's good they didn't ruin your perspective on teenage boys as a whole." He smiled at her.
"I hope they learned there lesson. for there sakes."
"So do I. Mostly for the sake I don't really want to have to deal with it." Laura sighed weakly, going up to her door. "Come on, I need to hook the video feed up to my PC."
"mm, I think they would be very sorry if they were caught by someone as ruthless as you."
He didn't know if he was supposed to follow her or not he just sat down.
