"Oh, well, you'll have to tell me how I did. I can't say I'm a terrible cook, but I can't cook a five star meal or anything." She made her way into the kitchen and threw open the fridge, leaning against the door casually as she tossed a few pieces of wrapped cheese onto the counter and took out a stick of butter, "How does grilled cheese sound? That's one of my specialties."
He walked over to the kitchen and leaned against the counter, tapping his rings on the surface in a steady pattern. "As long as it's not burnt to a crisp like how Kora cooks, I'll eat it. Though, I will admit that I have yet to find someone who can outcook my baby sister." When she suggested grilled cheese, his stomach took that moment to pipe up. "Oh, hush you. Yeah, grilled cheese sounds great."
She laughed lightly and nodded, "I can't promise that my cooking can beat your sister's, though I haven't had her cooking so I could be wrong." Closing the fridge door, she grabbed the loaf of bread next to the fridge and bought the supplies to the stove, taking a moment to pull a large flat pan out from a cupboard. "How many do you want? and if you want tomato soup with it I think there's a can in by the other soups over there." She jabbed her thumb in the general direction of another cupboard as she turned on the stove and started buttering a few pieces of bread.
"Two'll be fine, thanks." He bit his lip as he debated on telling her he was being transferred to Jynna's college. She might think that he was stalking her, or trying to insert himself into her life just like that Will guy. He had already filled out the paperwork and got all of his classes a day before he had met her, so he wasn't technically following her. But it relieved him that he could help keep Will away from her during school as well. For some reason.
"Alright then," She waited for the pan to heat up before setting four grilled cheese sandwiches on it, humming to herself as she grabbed two plates and cups for them. After waiting for a few minutes for them to cook, she flipped them and glanced at him, running a hand through her hair, "So, whatcha wanna do after we finish eating? The grilled cheese sandwiches are almost done right now."
He shrugged. I'll surprise her Monday. "Up to you. You're the one you called me." He winked at her. "Unless this was all just a ploy to get in my pants?" He clicked his tongue. "Naughty, naughty, Princess," he teased. "And here I thought you were better than that."
Jynna rolled her eyes and turned back to the sandwiches, "I'm not trying to get into your pants Rhydar, I do have some standards." She scooped the food onto the plates and turned off the stove, turning around and holding his out to him with a raised eyebrow, "Maybe you're the one trying to get me like that, guys have tried and guys have failed."
He leaned forward challengingly, a smirk creeping up his lips. "Well, I take that as a challenge. And I accept." His voice lowered just slightly as he spoke.
She stayed silent for a moment, though a mischievous look flashed over her face for a moment, "Eat your grilled cheese first princess." She pushed the plate towards his chest and grabbed her own plate, nodding towards the cups and then the fridge, "There's a ton of stuff to drink in there, I think I have everything from milk to soda so go crazy..just, don't touch the alcohol right now."
He pouted dramatically. "Aww. But that's the good stuff." Either way, he was hungry, and a guy's gotta eat. So he pulled his plate closer and took a bite of one of the sandwiches. I was actually really good–far better than if Kora had cooked.
Jynna took one of her own and started eating, walking to the fridge and pulling out a half empty bottle of apple juice. She poured herself a glass and looked over to him, shaking the bottle to ask if he wanted any. Not surprising herself in the least, she polished off the first sandwich in a minute or two and reached for her second one right after.
He watched her shamelessly scarf down the sandwiches with amusement, then nodded at her when she shook the bottle. "Sure." He soon finished off his own sandwich, going a bit slower as to not catch his lip ring on anything and violently rip it out. He'd–unfortunately–done that many times until he learned his lesson.
She nodded and poured him a glass as well, quickly putting the bottle back in the fridge as she finished her second sandwich. Picking up the glass of juice she leaned against the fridge and glanced at Ryhdar as she started drinking it, knowing people didn't usually scarf down their food as fast as they could, but she was hungry and not eating breakfast that morning made her even hungrier.
He did it again.
"Shit," he hissed, flinching as he went to pull back the sandwich, only for some part of it to snag on his ring. He carefully disentangled the two and glared at the grilled cheese before finishing it off. He glanced over at Jynna when he felt her eyes on him. "Hi?" he said slowly.
She smiled and finished off the juice, "How's the sandwich?" Jynna asked, picking up her plate and bringing both things to the almost full sink. Balancing them carefully ontop of the other dishes she turned to cleaning up the supplies from lunch.
"Great, when it's not attacking me." He took his own plate and added it to the precariously stacked pile of dishes. "Thanks," he added, remembering he had to have manners. "You want me to help?" He nodded at the supplies she was cleaning up as he came up next to her.
(Sry it's so short I had testing yesterday and today for school and I'm exhausted)
"If you want, that would be kinda nice." She chuckled lightly, "The sandwich attacked you? What'd it do?"
(It's okay)
He helped clean up. "It snagged on my ring," he muttered, licking said ring and tasting a little blood–not a lot, though. "Nothing too drastic, thankfully. I still have my lip intact."
Jynna nodded and grinned slightly, "Do you need me to kiss it better?" The stuff from lunch was cleaned up quickly with his help and she leaned against the counter.
Mischief sparked in his emerald eyes as he came up to Jynna, placing his hands in the counter on either side of her. "Quite possibly."
"Alright princess," She said, a sparkle in her eye as she bit her lip and continued grinning at him, "Let me kiss it better."
He leaned closer to her so their faces were mere inches apart. "I'm all yours," he purred. In all honesty, he wasn't sure if she was just another girl he was playing with or…
Could they be something more?
She looked into his eyes for a moment before closing the space between their faces and pressed her lips to his. It wasn't a crazy kiss or anything like that, it was more a light kiss just to see if he felt the same was towards her and she did towards him. They had just met, and her history with crappy guys warned her over and over that he could just be messing with her and leading her on for nothing.
He was actually shocked she kissed him. He had expected some banter and then her pushing him away–but not… a kiss. He had originally been toying with her like the player that he was, taking up the challenge that he had evaluated her to be. No feelings, no strings attached. Just a quick fling, and then he was off to the next girl once he had what he wanted.
But he felt his heart flutter ever so lightly when he tasted her lips.
After a moment she pulled away, her face heating up slightly, "Feel better prince?" She asked, completely aware of how little space was between them. The kiss had felt..different, than any of her other times she had kissed someone, but it was different in a good way. And in all honesty, she wanted to kiss him again.
