Rhydar chuckled and grabbed his burger as well, then took a bite. He made a noise and finished chewing before he spoke. "Okay, it's official–I'm in love with this place."
Rhydar chuckled and grabbed his burger as well, then took a bite. He made a noise and finished chewing before he spoke. "Okay, it's official–I'm in love with this place."
She laughed and nodded, "See? This is the best burger place that I've found yet." She bit into her burger and smiled, digging in without saying anything else.
"I thank you for dragging me here," he said before he effectively shut himself up by eating the burger. She was right–it was the best burger place he's ever been to.
Jynna gave him a thumbs up as she ate, quite surprised at how good the burger was since she had never had it before.
He paused for a bit to lick off the stuff all over his lips. He silently promised himself that he would come here probably every lunch.
She looked up at him with a small smile, taking a break for a moment to take a drink. "Any complaints about the burger?" She asked, wiping her mouth with a napkin
He shook his head and took a drink as well. "Nope, none at all. You've got good taste, I'll give you that," he said with a smirk and wink—obviously not just talking about food.
"Sometimes yes, sometimes no," She replied, her smile growing slightly as she started eating her burger again.
He scrunched up his nose. "I hope that yes is talking about me and not the no," he muttered, taking another drink.
She laughed and took another sip of her drink, frowning when she realized her burger was almost gone, "The yes is talking about you, dummy."
He stuck his tongue out at her. "Just checking." He dug back into his burger, almost finished with it.
Jynna rolled her eyes and smiled, going back to eating her burger and occasionally stopping to take a drink. Eventually she finished off her burger with a sigh, wishing she hadn't finished the burger.
Rhydar finished his as well and cleaned off his fingers and mouth with a napkin. He caught Jynna's sigh and disappointment and chuckled. "Someone upset they finished their food?" he teased.
She stuck her tongue out at him with a scowl in response, spinning her cup in her hand and occasionally taking a drink of it.
He just smirked. "I'll take that as a yes." He checked his phone to look at the time—at least, pretended to do so. In reality, he was bringing up his camera to take a picture of Jynna. He kept a straight face as he did so, not giving away his actions.
Jynna didn't pay an ounce of attention towards Rhydar when he took out his phone, her eyes scanning the burger place for Anka so she could get the bill. She kept spinning the cup in her hand though, wanting to finish off her soda before they left.
He smiled slightly as he got a surprisingly good pic of her, then pocketed his phone. "We should probably head on back once we get the bill," he said to her before finishing off his drink as well.
"Yeah," She agreed, pushing her now empty glass away from herself, "Now to get the bill we just have to flag down Anka, and knowing her, she's probably back in the kitchen doing dishes or something."
"Hmm. That puts us in a pickle." He tapped his rings against the table. "What are the chances of getting caught if I flagged her down from the kitchen?" he asked with a mischievous gleam in his eyes.
She grinned but rolled her eyes, “I’ll go get it, you stay put.” Jynna stood up and glanced at him before heading towards the kitchen, leaving him no room for argument.
He whined at not being able to cause trouble but stayed put. He pulled out his phone to scroll through stuff while he waited for Jynna to get back.
She slipped into the kitchen quickly, waving towards some of the other workers before making her way towards where Anka was. “Have the bill?” She called, gutting a nod in response.
“By the cash register,” Anka replied, nodding back out of the kitchen.
Rhydar got a text from his sister. Magnus tells me you actually went to school. Who are you and what have you done with my idiot of a brother?
He rolled his eyes and texted back. Drama Queen. Is it so hard to believe that I can go to school on my own?
She replied with, You're the drama queen, and yes, yes it is.
“Thanks, I’ll leave it on our table when we’re done.” Jynna waved to her one last time before turning and heading out of the kitchen, grabbing their bill from the cash register and bringing it back to their table. “I’ll pay,” She said as she sat down, pulling out her phone and popping open the case to grab money.
He sighed and set down his phone. "I can never act like the gentleman for you, can I? You never let me." He didn't bother with texting his sister back, as there wasn't anything he needed to respond to. He knew she wouldn't get upset over it–it was just a text.
