"Mom, dad, two sisters and a brother," She rattled off, "And nope, never heard of these friend things you speak of." Her sarcasm made her smile and she shook her head, "Two best friends, both of which are halfway across the country going to college near my hometown."
"Ah, no wonder I haven't seen you with anybody except moi–and jackass, but we don't speak of him." He shook his head with a chuckle. "Anywho, how tall are you? I'm just recycling questions, as you know."
"Just over 5' 6"." She took another sip of her drink and nodded, "It kinda sucks, not having them around, but we get together every christmas and spring break so It's not too terrible."
"Ahah, so I'm half a foot taller," he said triumphantly. "I personally don't have many friends outside of the ones my sister attracted." He shrugged and rubbed at his jaw to think of another question. "Ooo, this is a make or break question." He dramatically rubbed his hands together. "Cats or dogs?"
Jynna laughed at his dramatics and rolled her eyes, "You asked me this before, I like dogs but I'm more of a cat person. And yes, you are taller, but your nickname is still going to be shorty."
He cocked his head. "Did I? Well damn." He stuck his tongue out at the nickname. "And my nickname is not going to be shorty. I forbid it."
"You don't get a say in your nickname though, that's just an unspoken rule," She replied, smiling and taking a sip of her drink, "Alright shorty, next question."
He huffed and hunched over, folding his arms over the table and resting his head on them. "No. You hurt my feelings." He stuck his tongue out again for emphasis on his childish pouting.
She laughed again and mimicked him, "Fine, your nickname will no longer be shorty," She stuck her tongue out before sitting back up straight, "Now I gotta find a new nickname for you."
"Please be a little more creative than 'dumbass,' 'prick,' and 'idiot,'" he requested. "And not shorty." He sat back up as well, tilting his head. "Wait, you already do have one."
"Well, I suppose I could continue using Prince," She replied, thinking about it for a moment, "How about this, your nickname is Prince, and mine is anything but Princess."
He seemed to deflate. "Aw! But you're my Princess." He propped his head on his hand, going back to pouting. "Fine, what would you prefer to be called?"
"Anything besides Princess, it makes me feel like a five year old." She leaned back in her chair and glanced towards the kitchen, knowing their food would be coming out soon.
"Oh hush." He tilted his head and looked to the side as he thought. "Shortcake?"
She wrinkled her nose and shook her head, leaning on the table and taking another sip of her drink, "No, reminds me of how short I am.'
"So does shorty," he retorted. "Then I got nothing because you say anything and then shoot me down immediately." He slouched back down, head resting on his arms again.
"Fine.." She sighed, "You can be Prince..and I'll be Princess." She turned towards the kitchen again and smiled when she saw Anka come out with their food in her hands.
Anka walked to their table and set the food down, "There you are you two."
"Thank you," Rhydar said, then got an idea. He looked over at Anka. "Hey, you know Jynna very well?" he asked her tilting his head to the side.
She shrugged, a slightly confused look on her face, "Sort of? I mean, we're not best friends or anything, but we know each other and get along."
"She's being difficult and can't seem to pick a nickname for herself," he explained, shooting a glance over towards Jynna, "You mind pitching in?"
"Umm…" Anka smiled and glanced at Jynna, "Kitten? Princess? Blue eyes?" She suggested, her smile growing slightly on her face, "Sorry if I give him any ideas that you don't like Jynna. Cinnamon? Doodlebug?"
"I said Princess, but she shot me down," he pouted. He raised a brow in Jynna's direction. "Well?" he asked her.
She stuck her tongue out at him in response before thinking about the names silently, "Kitten wouldn't be bad."
"Then Kitten you shall be," he said, then looked up at Anka. "Thank you for your help. This would've bugged me all day."
Anka smiled and waved a hand dismissively, "No problem. No, you two eat your burgers and be gook, ok?" She winked at Jynna before turning and heading away to help a different table.
"Well Prince," Jynna said, motioning to his burger as she slid hers towards herself, "Tell me what you think of the burger."
