Cas nodded and fell silent for the rest of the walk, just allowing Halm to carry him along.
Cas nodded and fell silent for the rest of the walk, just allowing Halm to carry him along.
Halm stayed quiet too, glancing down at Cas occasionally to check on him. After a couple of minutes, they reached a door. Halm shifted Cas in his arms, knocking.
Cas looked over at the door to watch, waiting for the other god to come to the door. Halm had told him that this one was nice and wouldn't talk to him like he was property, so he hoped he was right.
Eventually, the door opened. Marcos was the same height as his sister, but instead of souls he had a moon-shaped halo over his head.
"Hey," he said in greeting. "Come on in you two." He stepped to the side, and Halm made his way in.
(eyyyyy I know that guy. finger guns)
Cas's gaze wandered over Marcos's features curiously. He did look rather like the goddess from before.
Marcos closed the door behind Halm. Halm was actually very shy, nodding in a return greeting.
"Thanks for letting me know you were coming over," he said.
"Have a seat." Marcos himself walked over, sitting down on a large couch. Halm made his way over, sitting down with Cas in his lap.
"My name's Marcos," Marcos said, offering his hand to Cas in greeting. "Nice to meet you."
Cas shook his hand politely. "I'm Cas. The feeling's mutual." He nodded a bit and hugged Nix again, watching as Marcos sat down. He glanced up at Halm and noticed how nervous he looked. "You good?"
Halm had been watching Marcos but looked down when Cas spoke to him.
"I'm fine," he said, smiling a little. Marcos folded his legs, hands in his lap.
"So, Halm. You'd said you'd never Claim. Why'd you do it, then?" He asked, curious.
"Derlik was kinda strangling me and said he would kill me if Halm didn't claim me." Cas said simply, laying his head on Halm's chest.
Marcos sighed a little.
"Yeah, Derlik's an ass like that. You two have been getting along, I see." Halm nodded, quiet.
Cas nodded as well, holding Nix close to his chest. "It's pretty nice down here. Kinda chilly, though."
"Well, it seems like Halm's been keeping you plenty warm," Marcos said, raising an eyebrow slightly at the way Cas was sitting on Halm's lap.
He nodded again. "Yeah. He… he does that." He said quietly, blushing a bit. He glanced up at Halm to see if the other was going to put in any input.
Halm blushed a little, shrugging.
"Neither of us really mind," he said. Marcos nodded.
"I can see that…" Marcos chuckled.
Cas fell quiet, stroking Nix with gentle hands. Halm probably knew Marcos better than he did, and he really didn't know what to say or talk about.
Halm didn't really know Marcos, actually. He'd make this work, though. He adjusted his hold on Cas a little.
"How have you been?" He asked.
"Lonely, as usual," Marcos said. He hadn't Claimed yet.
(lies lmao)
(XD)
Cas listened curiously, wondering how interactions between gods usually went down. So far, it seemed to be just about the same as any human conversation.
"Perhaps I could get you two something to drink?" Marcos offered. Halm shook his head no, waiting for Cas's response.
"I'm alright, thank you." Cas replied. "What do you like to do down here?" He asked curiously.
"Hm… Well, for one thing, we aren't 'down here' anymore. The door brought you from the Underworld up to my palace in the sky. And for me personally, I usually just read or answer prayers." Marcos smiled. When he was explaining things to Cas, he didn't treat him like his sister had- he treated Cas with respect. Halm was grateful for that.
"Ohh… is the door magical?" He asked. He was definitely appreciative of Marcos' tone. It didn't make him feel stupid for asking questions or simply being human rather than deity.
Marcos nodded.
"In all honesty, most you're gonna encounter are magical." Halm nodded.
"The closet isn't the only one in our house," he said.
