"Huh," Alexa finally commented after studying him for a few moments. She paused to think before suggesting, "Maybe we should ask another Runner to see if they can spot any locked up memories in your dumbarse head."
"Huh," Alexa finally commented after studying him for a few moments. She paused to think before suggesting, "Maybe we should ask another Runner to see if they can spot any locked up memories in your dumbarse head."
“We could," Arsen said doubtfully, ”but Runners are really hard to find, and they can do things that we don't like, once they get in your head."
"Okay, not a random Runner then," Alexa told him in response. She gave a shrug attempting to keep herself composed, "Either way, if something did happen to you it might be best to find out si?"
"I guess," Arsen said. True, it would be helpful to find out if his mind had been scrambled by a Runner, but he had been more shaken this time than he cared to admit.
"Okay," Alexa nodded taking his answer as some form of acceptance and deciding to move on. She didn't really want to talk about it any longer in fear of the feeling coming back. Dios she was going to be fucked up for a while.
They arrived back at the hotel in silence, and Arsen ran a hand through his hair, sighing as he unlocked their door. "I wish they had given us some instructions," he said, "so that we don't have to hang around here for a while."
"Yeah, if we stay in this hotel any longer I'm going to go stir crazy," Alexa replied with a little sigh walking into the hotel room.
"Me too, but I don't really think we have a choice." Arsen tried to run a hand through his short hair, but there was really no hair long enough to run it through.
"No, we really don't," Alexa sighed once more laying down on the couch. She was still unused to her red hair, and honestly wasn't surprised to see her roots growing back in.
(Do we want to do a timeskip to sometime later?)
(Probably.)
(Alright. Do you have an idea as to what we would skip it to, or should I just bullshit it?)
(Just bullshit it lol)
(Cool. Let's do this!)
Arsen ran a hand through his hair. It was growing back slightly, but the short length still threw him off. "I'll have to say, it's nice not having to see System members around constantly."
He and Alexa were currently shopping for some food. They had decided that it was best for them to stay together, in case one of them cough Arsen cough got into trouble.
"Yeah," Alexa responded glancing around the shop. Her black roots were starting to show once more and she wasn't really in the mood to do any touch-ups. She still was being wary despite the fact her head knew she was safe, "Though we probably shouldn't bring this up in a public place."
"Probably not," Arsen agreed. "But if there's a chance for me to screw up, you know I'll take it." He grinned and grabbed a gallon of milk from the fridge area, letting the door shut with a click.
"I'm well aware you would," Alexa quipped in return a smile gracing her face. She stayed back and let Arsen grab the stuff from the colder area not wanting to deal with the change in temperature, "And that's why I'm here to get you out of it."
"I feel so touched that you care enough about me to get me out of any messes that I make." Arsen smiled sweetly at her, but it was a fake sweetness, more mocking and amused than anything else.
"Yeah," Alexa could tell his smile was fake from one glance. He wasn't the best actor, "It's more if you get into a mess, I'm more likely to get caught. It's ensuring my safety more than anything."
"What? No, no, you're not supposed to tell people that you're a selfish asshole," Arsen told her, as if talking to a small child, although he looked like he was holding back laughter. "You let them find out slowly, so that by the time they find it out completely, it's too late."
"Eh, if you tell them upfront then they have no reason to be betrayed later," Alexa glanced over at him. Was he about to laugh? Or at the very least he was trying not to, "Besides I'm not a selfish asshole unless the other person's a selfish asshole. At that point it's preservation more than anything."
"Ehhhhhhhhh." Arsen made a questioning noise at the back of his throat. "That would be saying that you only acted like a selfish asshole because I acted like one. And everyone knows I'm perfect, so…" He trailed off meaningfully.
"Nah, it's just you ignoring your own personality traits and flaws," Alexa let out a snort in response to Arsen's comment, "Only chicas estupidas think you're perfect."
"That's still some people who think I'm perfect," Arsen pointed out, pretending to throw his non-existent long hair over his shoulder.
"Do they really count as people?" Alexa raised an eyebrow to Arse… n, "Personally I think they resemble more closely to mindless drones."
