"If you want it to be," Alexa shrugged ceasing her laughter as she tried to imitate one of her teachers from Tanama. She still had to stifle a laugh at his voice cracky speaking tone.
"If you want it to be," Alexa shrugged ceasing her laughter as she tried to imitate one of her teachers from Tanama. She still had to stifle a laugh at his voice cracky speaking tone.
"That… was really freaky," Arsen commented at her tone. He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye and grinned at her suppressed laughter. "That voice you just did, I mean. Don't ever scare me like that again."
Alexa finally let her laughter loose before letting her smile turn sly. She leaned closer to him ever so slightly before repeating her imitation, "What voice? This one? Why do you have no respect for your teacher Arsen?"
"Gah!" Arsen leaned away as much as he could, faking terror. "I don't have any respect for my teacher because she's a monster!"
Alexa leaned back in her seat as she laughed at his last comment. She curled up a little because she was laughing so much, "What did your teachers do you Arsen?"
"They terrified me!" Arsen protested, feeling slightly offended but also incredibly amused by her reaction. "Do you know how scary it is to see your teacher in public when you're with your parents, and then they come over and talk about all of your failures? It's terrifying! And their weird deep voices and overly smiley faces…"
Alexa only laughed harder as he continued on. She had lost control of her laughter at this point and couldn't respond to Arsen at all.
"Oh no. I broke her." His voice was completely deadpan, different from the defensive tone he had held only moments before. "What am I going to do now?"
Alexa continued laughing though she began to calm down. She snickered out a little response, "It takes a bit more than that to break me."
"Are you sure about that?" Arsen asked, one eyebrow raised, a grin on his face. "I don't think it will take a bit more. You looked like you were dead back there."
"I'm sure. A fit of laughter won't take me down," Alexa responded still laughing slightly, "Just make me a bit out of breath."
"I'm going to put that on your tombstone," Arsen told her, pulling into the drive thru. "Here lies Alexa Law. She thought laughter couldn't kill her, and now here she is."
"I don't think it works like that," Alexa laughed again though she was quieting down. This was due to the fact she knew Arsen needed to order.
"I think it does." He pulled up the the speaker and glanced at her. "Any favorite flavorings you like to use? Or shall I order for you?"
"You can just order for me, I'm not picky," Alexa responded quickly. She stuck her tongue out when he glanced over just because.
"Yes ma'am," Arsen responded with a grin, responding to her face with a gesture that relied heavily on a certain finger. He ordered her coffee and drove to the window to pick it up.
Alexa didn't know if he ordered himself coffee or just her. If it was just her she would feel bad, but she didn't say anything in fear of looking stupid, "Don't call me ma'am, sir."
"Why not, ma'am?" Arsen shot back. He handed her one of the coffees he had bought and stuck the other one in the cupholder before starting to drive to the hotel.
"Makes me feel old," Alexa shuddered slightly as she took the coffee. She hesitated a moment before taking a sip enjoying the warm flavors that now bathed her tongue. Her eyes widened a little, "This ain't half bad."
"It isn't," Arsen agreed smugly. "Now, is it better or worse than your disgusting paper homemade sludge that you call coffee?"
Alexa took another sip and hummed for a moment in thought. Now she was left with the choice of being honest or annoying Arsen. Orrrr she could do a bit of both, "I suppose it might be tad bit better."
"A tad bit? What are you, a barbarian?" Arsen took a sip of his and pulled into the hotel parking lot with ease.
Alexa snickered as she continued to sip at the drink, "No, I just find you're reactions amusing. This is actually a lot better than what I normally drink."
"Ha! See, I was right!" Arsen ignored - or tried to, anyway - the fact that she was trying to get a rise out of him. "I do have good ideas, you know."
Alexa kept laughing as she watched him react, "Sometimes yeah. Now come on, let's get the stuff to the room before it ends up going bad."
