He nodded again, watching Wilhelm with a faint smile curving on his lips. "Show me when we get back to th' dorm?"
He nodded again, watching Wilhelm with a faint smile curving on his lips. "Show me when we get back to th' dorm?"
“Of course! Most of the clippings are from the spring of.. year 11, I think. A few years old now, but they still look amazing.” Wilhelm nodded. “I’ve got other clippings in there that I can show you as well, if you’d like.”
He hummed softly. "Sounds great." he replied with a smile. "As long 's they're pretty, ah'll see as many as yer willin' ta show me."
“Pretty? Connor, I don’t know that I’ve seen anything more beautiful in my entire life.” Wilhelm sighed softly, sitting cross-legged on the grass.
Connor chuckled a little. "Mm. Alright."
He rolled a piece of grass in his fingers. “I mean it, and I’ve seen some pretty things and some pretty people.” Wilhelm laughed.
He laughed at Wilhelm's words. "Mm. Me too." he replied, glancing at Wilhelm for a moment, then away again.
Wilhelm’s attention was snagged by a small rustle in the grass. He jolted, looking towards the noise and cocking his head. “If you were wanting to see a rabbit, I think you’re going to get your chance.” He said quietly, voice hushed as to not startle away the animal.
Connor looked at the noise, movements slow and careful and smooth.
A brown rabbit dashed out of the overgrowth, pausing in a small bit of clearing for a moment. It scampered swag within a few seconds, darting back into the bushy flora.
He watched the rabbit go with a faint smile, running a hand through his hair. "Aww." He commented with a smile. "Tha's adorable "
“Cute thing. Hopefully it doesn’t get eaten anytime soon.” Wilhelm agreed, nodding his head along.
He sneezed, and nodded. "Mm. Although if 't is, we would nae know anyways." He shrugged.
“Well, we might hear it if it happens soon.” Wilhelm shrugged, curling a lock of hair around his fingers. “But I doubt that it will, foxes aren’t one to stick around people.”
He nodded again. "True." he sneezed again, and shook his head, running his fingers through his hair.
Wilhelm let out a happy sigh, despite their conversation topic. He sat down all the way, looking at all the plants as if he were trying to mentally name all of them. “I know it’s not the best weather, but I can’t help but fall deeper and deeper in love with this place every time I see it.”
He smiled a little. "Yeah. Ah can see why. It's gorgeous." He replied, looking at the pond.
“I wish I could just-“ Wilhelm clapped his hands together for effect. “-capture this moment, and keep it with me forever.”
He smiled. "I could sketch 't, but ah dinnae have my sketchbook with me."
“If you’re wanting to draw, I have my own notebook with me. It’s smaller, but I keep my own little drawings in there.” Wilhelm offered, hoping that it wouldn’t sound like he was asking Connor to draw.
Connor shrugged. "If ya want me to, ah will. Otherwise ah can reproduce it from memory later."
“Then do whatever you’d like, really.” Wilhelm smiled halfway, pulling out his notepad and flipping to an empty space. Wilhelm crammed things together, notes written in messy German combined with rough sketches of the plants in question.
He smiled a little, taking the notebook and starting to sketch, pencil moving across the paper.
He looked around, only sometimes glancing at Connor’s drawing. He still liked watching him work, sure, but there was too much around him to only be focused on one thing at once.
(gtg soon, sorry)
Connor drew the pond, the plants, then sketched Wilhelm into the drawing, a faint smile on his face.
