Wilhelm hummed quietly. He adjusted his appearance often, though whether or not it was a conscious decision was unclear.

Wilhelm hummed quietly. He adjusted his appearance often, though whether or not it was a conscious decision was unclear.
He continued to work, sketching carefully.
Wilhelm studied one of the plants close to him, one he didn’t recognize too well. He held the leaves in his fingers, trying to at least relate it to something that he was familiar with.
He kept sketching, humming as he worked. He sat down on the wet ground, balancing the sketchbook in his lap.
“Hey- not to interrupt your work, but do you recognize this? Because I don’t, and it’s killing me.” Wilhelm frowned, turning the leaf over in his fingers and inspecting the underside.
He looked up. "Hm? Oh. No, sorry." he went back to sketching.
“..Ah. I’ll have to bring a book out here and see if I can match it up, I guess.” Wilhelm frowned, still trying to deduce it himself.
He nodded. He finished sketching. "Done." he said, holding it up to Wilhelm.
“Oh, wow. How is it that I’m still mesmerized by your work every time I see it?” Wilhelm said softly, looking between Connor and the sketch.
Connor blushed a little, smiling. "Thank you."
(gtg again. might be back idk)
(no issues, thanks for letting me know!)
Wilhelm nodded. “I’m just telling the truth, you know.”
He nodded a little bit, looking at the plant again. "YEah."
“How do you think your classes are going so far? Report cards should come out soon.” Wilhelm tried to steer the conversation in a different direction, albeit clumsily.
He blinked, and shrugged. "Ah have no idea. Ah hope ah'm doin' well, bu'…" he shrugged, laughing.
“I understand. From the way my grades have been going, I’m not too sure about myself, honestly.” Wilhelm admitted, tittering a bit.
He let out a faint laugh. "Yeah. I have no clue what's gonna happen."
“Me neither. I think we’re at the grace of God, really.” Wilhelm sighed, running his hands through the wet grass.
"Yeah. An'…God does nae have much grace for boys like me." Connor shrugged a little, shaking his head.
“I think I could say the same for myself.” Wilhelm sighed, flopping onto his back. He ignored the damp grass, instead focusing on the ice-blue sky above him. “What that means for us, I don’t know. I just want to live long enough.”
Connor sighed softly. "Yeah." He replied softly, looking at the pond with a quiet breath.
“I don’t want to talk about this, but I feel like I’m suffocating under the weight of it all. I know that I’m preaching to the choir, but why the fuck do I have to hide so much about myself just to stay safe?” Wilhelm groaned, holding his hand over his eyes. “I’m tired of it, but I don’t want to drop my guard and get fucking killed.”
Connor looked over at him. "Ah know." He said softly. He ran a hand through his curls, swallowing and shaking his head slightly.
“I’m just sick of it.” Wilhelm said quietly, keeping his face to the sky. The sun was out in full force today, barely a single cloud in the sky to subdue it. Wilhelm ran his fingers through his hair. “I don’t want to whine, though.” He plucked a long grass from the space next to him, twirling its long and slender stalk in his fingers. “I think this is orchard grass, this one. You can usually tell by the seed head, see?”
"Ah know. Ah am too." He replied softly. He looked up at the sky, then over at Wilhelm and the grass. "Huh. Ah…was no' aware that there were different types o' grasses."
Wilhelm darted upwards, head cocked. “What? But they’re all so different! There are a few that I can see now, hold on..” Wilhelm picked a few stalks, holding them out to show Connor. “Okay. So, here’s orchard grass, cat grass, whatever you want to call it. This beauty, I’m sure you’ve seen it before, this is creeping red fescue, or Festuca Rubra. This third one, though, you see how the seed heads look more like bulbs? This is cocksfoot grass. Beautiful, isn’t it?”
