Connor looked at the grasses. "Huh." He said slowly. He bit his lip a little bit. "Yeah, ah guess 't is."
Connor looked at the grasses. "Huh." He said slowly. He bit his lip a little bit. "Yeah, ah guess 't is."
Wilhelm nodded, his eyes lighting up as he talked. “Did you know grass actually flowers? It’ll be later in the year before any of them do, but I just find that fascinating!”
He blinked in surprise. "Grass…flowers?" He said slowly, staring at Wilhelm. "Tha's…a little strange."
“Well, it has to reproduce somehow.” Wilhelm shrugged, tying the grass stems into knots. “It is a plant, after all.”
He nodded. "Well yeah. Ah jus'… Did nae know tha' they flowered." He replied with a shrug.
Wilhelm nodded. “I get it, it doesn’t seem right, but it is.” He stretched, tilting his head upward to feel the sun on his face.
He nodded, laying back in the grass. "Yeah." He ran a hand through his hair again, sighing softly.
Wilhelm laid back as well, still fiddling with the stalks. He toyed with a question in his mind, trying to figure out if it was even worth asking.
Connor closed his eyes, resting his wrist on his forehead. He lay in the sun, knowing that it was making new freckles on his pale skin.
Wilhelm took in a sharp, quiet breath. “Hey, Connor? Last night- why did you stay in my bed? You could’ve gotten up, and I wouldn’t have noticed, so.. why?”
Connor opened his eyes, blinking. "O-oh. Ah er…" He didn't know what to say. "Yeh were warm?"
Wilhelm laughed and shut his eyes, basking in the sunlight. “Warm? I can’t fault you for that, I guess.” A soft smile lingered on his lips.
He shrugged slightly. "Also ah was tired, an' it was easier than movin'."
“Alright, alright. These are all valid points.” Wilhelm stretched, still lying down. “I was just curious, that’s all.”
He nodded a little, looking at the sky again and blushing a little. "Alright."
(Gtg to bed soon, sorry)
(it’s no problem, gn!)
Wilhelm was quiet again. He opened his eyes after a bit, though he quickly blocked them with a hand. “God, the sun’s bright today.”
He laughed. "Good ol' England. Rainy yesterday, sunny t'day." He said with a smile.
“So temperamental.” Wilhelm sighed, but he didn’t stop smiling. “But she’s got the most beautiful greenery, I must say.”
He laughed again. "Mm. It's cause o' all the rain." He replied with a smile.
(Gtg most likely won't be back. Good night!)
(goodnight!)
“Yeah, yeah. Rainy climate makes for green grass, I suppose.” Wilhelm chuckled. “At least it’s just showers, not storms.”
He nodded. "Usually. Last night was a storm." he replied with a shrug.
Wilhelm shuddered, thinking of the previous night’s weather. “Yeah, it was. Not my favorite, if I’m being honest.” He chuckled slightly, crossing his arms over his chest.
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah. Ah know." He looked over at Wilhelm for a moment, then up at the sky again.
The thought of Connor deliberately staying in Wilhelm’s bed raced through his mind. Even if I was warm, he’s got blankets on his own bed. He bit his nails. Am I overthinking this? I have to be, right?
Connor closed his eyes, face tipped up to the sun's. The sun's golden rays caught on his cheeks and in his hair.
