Connor let out a soft hum as Wilhelm's fingers combed through his curls, leaning back into the other male's hands.
Connor let out a soft hum as Wilhelm's fingers combed through his curls, leaning back into the other male's hands.
Wilhelm glanced at the window, taking in the sunrise for a few moments. He didn’t stop running his fingers through Connor’s hair for a few more minutes, the action becoming more of muscle memory than a conscious decision.
Connor was quiet, eyes still shut and leaning into Wilhelm's hands still, rather like a cat would. He was going to fall back asleep sooner or later.
“It’s still earlier than I expected. I think I woke up around three, give or take.” Wilhelm mumbled, loud enough for Connor to hear. “What’s it now, six? The sun is still coming up.”
"Yeah, prob'ly around six." Connor mumbled sleepily, cracking open an eye.
“..Hm. I think I’m too awake now to go to sleep, that’s sad. You should try to go back to sleep if you can, I kept you up later than I should’ve last night.” Wilhelm reached over towards his nightstand, picking up a book.
Connor shrugged his shoulders. "Ah'm no' gettin' off this bed, though." he replied. "Too comfy." he closed his eyes again.
Wilhelm chuckled softly. “I didn’t expect you to, don’t worry.” He went relatively quiet, trying not to disturb Connor. Really, the only noise that came from Wilhelm was simply the pages turning in his book.
Connor let out a sleepy sigh, curling up against Wilhelm and already drifting back to sleep.
A wisp of a smile drifted across Wilhelm’s face when he would look back at Connor. He tried to focus on his book, but the mere realization that the other boy slept in his bed all night was a distraction on its own.
Connor fell asleep, curled up against Wilhelm. If asked, he would have said it was only because Wilhelm was warm, but…that probably wasn't the whole reason. Not that he would have admitted that, of course.
Wilhelm hummed quietly to himself, a broken medley of the tunes his mother would sing and the things that Connor would hum. He couldn’t deny the fact that in most situations, another boy would rather die than share beds with him. Even then, the ones who did wouldn’t normally stick around like Connor did.
Connor kept sleeping. He shifted a little bit, one arm landing loosely around Wilhelm's waist.
Wilhelm’s face went the faintest shade of pink at that. He checked the watch on his bedside table. 6:30. The sun was low in the sky, but slowly rising. He took a small breath, trying to figure out if it was better to move Connor’s arm or just leave it be.
(gtg to bed now. Good night!)
Connor kept sleeping, snuggled up to Wilhelm still.
(gn!)
Just let it go. He’ll move it when he wakes up, and you don’t want to risk waking him up now. He’s done too much for you. Wilhelm reprimanded himself mentally, going back to his book.
He shifted again in his sleep, eyebrows pushing together as his dreams started to change.
Wilhelm noticed the shift, though he decided to wait before saying or doing anything.
After a few minutes, his facial features smoothed out again, and he relaxed.
Wilhelm flipped the page, nearly forgetting that Connor was curled up on him.
Connor kept sleeping, cuddled up to Wilhelm with an arm still thrown around the German boy's waist.
Wilhelm checked the time. He let out a quiet, content breath, shifting a bit to get more comfortable.
After a while, Connor finally awoke again, eyes slowly cracking open as he peeked up at Wilhelm through his lashes.
Wilhelm didn’t notice Connor waking up, now that he was finally focused on his book. He ran a hand through his hair and yawned.
Connor realized that his arm was around Wilhelm's waist still, and he cautiously pulled his arm away, stretching.
