Kalon nodded a bit and smiled as well. "I often feel disconnected from the people… I'm not sure what exactly I am, even, but whatever I am keeps me separate from the kingdom. There are very few beings who I can relate to." He sighed, their smile weakening a bit.
She watched as his smile weakened, she hated when she saw that beautiful smile of his dim, when he was upset.
"I'm sorry to hear that…just know, I'm always here for you. I never wish for you to be alone, I hope I can offer some solace in the fact that you don't have many to relate too.'
Kalon nodded a bit and ran his fingers through his hair. "Of course. I appreciate your companionship greatly, Phoebe. It's just unfortunate that I won't have the opportunity to meet many others like myself. The moon goddess, of course, is the closest I'll get to another deity. But I'd be grateful to make some mortal friends as well. Although it does sadden me that I may lose them someday…"
"Yes..it is..I hope that in the future you will get to meet more, I know you will."
She smiled brightly at him, running a hand through his hair.
"I have faith." She hugged him close to her like they had been.
"Well, I won't leave you. I promise."
Kalon leaned into Phoebe's touch and seemed to relax somewhat. "Thanks, Phoebe… sorry for getting all mopey." He laughed softly, closing his eyes. "I'll cheer up. I don't like to act so down. What else can we talk about?"
She smiled as he seemed to relax, she giggled softly playing with his hair.
"Oh its alright, your allowed to get sad around me. I will just treat you with lots of hugs and cuddles."
She smiled at him, hugging him close.
Kalon smiled weakly and returned the hug, holding onto Phoebe. He was gentle, not wanting to hurry her, but he clearly didn't want to let go right now. "Thanks…" They sighed softly and closed their eyes, although he wasn't tired enough to sleep at the moment. "I'll have to do a little extra work tonight. I think I may have made a few mistakes last night…"
She clearly didn't care about hurting herself when she gave him a tight and comfortable warm hug. She could tell that he probably needed it.
Of course that caused her wince at her wound, though she tried to ignore the pain that it caused her. She continued to stroke his head gently as he spoke.
"Oh no..is that my fault?"
"No, never your fault…" Kalon replied softly, thankful for Phoebe's closeness. "I was worried, of course, but I would never blame you for that. It's not your fault." They buried their face in her shoulder. "I'll fix it. It's fine. I've got everything logged in my journals anyway, so it shouldn't take too long. I might just be a little extra tired tomorrow morning."
She exhaled,
"thank goodness..I would hate to get in the way of your work, or your focus. I wouldn't want you to get into any trouble because of me."
She still continued to stroke there head gently, smiling softly as they cuddled closer.
"Take all the rest you need, I will be here."'
"I'll be fine. The moon goddess may be a little annoyed with me, but she'll get over it." Kalon laughed airily, relaxing more as Phoebe soothed him. They would definitely be more relaxed tonight, so he could fix the mistakes more easily. "Is it starting to get dark yet?" They asked.
She laughed softly, peering out the window and noticing how it hadn't started to get dark just yet.
"Not quite, but soon.' She spoke, seeing how the sun was going down, but it hadn't started to get dark just yet.
Kalon nodded a bit. "I'll have to leave you soon, then… you promise to get some rest and stay put?" He asked, looking up at Phoebe to get her reassurance that she would be alright without them there.
"Aw..well just know I will be cheering you on from her, although I will also miss you.' She smiled at him.
"I promise to get rest, and stay here.'
Kalon nodded again and smiled softly. "I'll return as soon as I can. I may be asleep for a while when I do, but then I'm all yours." After a few more minutes, they left to go attend to the stars.
"Take all the time you need kalon, I will await your presence until you come again." She smiled at him, waving him off when ye went to leave.
Kalon headed off to where he needed to be and got started on attending to his duties, and also fixing the mistakes they'd made the night before. In the morning, they were exhausted, and he returned to where Phoebe was looking pale and unsteady.
Phoebe was stretching out her wings when he returned, making sure to check on the feathers growth.
She gasped when he walked in. "Kalon!"
Kalon smiled weakly as he staggered closer and clumsily sat down on the bed. "Hi, Phoebe… did you sleep well…?" They asked softly. He definitely needed to get some rest, but he wanted to check on her first.
Her eyes were a little bit panicked as she saw what state he was in. ."why are you worried about me?? You should be resting!" She huffed at him.
"I'm fine, I'm fine… just had a lot to do…" Kalon lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling, his eyelids fluttering a bit. "And I'm worried because you're hurt… are you feeling any better?"
She still looked at him, worried and nervous at his state.
"Im doing a lot better, I will be able to leave sooner then you might think. Will you please rest?"
Kalon nodded a bit and allowed his eyes to close. "Mm… fine, fine, I'll rest… just wanted to make sure you were okay…" And with that, they were out. His breathing gradually became more steady, and as they rested, his face started to regain its color too.
"Yes, and I am fine kalon..sleep peacefully." She spoke softly, running a hand through his hair in a calming motion. Basically massaging his head as she smiled down at him.
