Macy shook her head as silent tears slid down her face. “I’m sorry…I’m just so scared..”

“Do you think Macy and Nikki got back to camp?”

Nikki continued to side-hug Macy. “I’m here for you. If there’s anything that I can do, let me know.”

Otis kept walking. “I-I don’t know. I’d hope so…” he said, shivering.

“Thanks..” Macy leaned into the hug, sighing.

“Me too..” Thomas said quietly.

Nikki hugged Macy cozily. "It's gonna be okay…" she said softly."Do you wanna talk?"

Otis walked a little slower, still facing forward. "Get in the canoe." he said to Thomas. "I-I don't want you to freeze."

“Not really…but thanks for being here for me…”

“If I’m getting in then you are too.”

Nikki hugged Macy a bit more before letting go, her arm still around Macy. “We should get going again. They’re probably worried about us.”

“No.” Otis said. “You get in.”

“Yeah, Yeah. Thanks again.” Macy stood up, starting to walk again.

I’m not getting in unless you do.” Thomas said firmly.

“Yep.” Nikki said. “Watch out, thorns ahead-ouch!”

“I need something to live for, someone to prevent from death. Right now, it’s gonna be you. Get in the boat.” Otis said seriously. This was legit. Otis never spoke this firmly or this much in his life.

“You okay? You’re bleeding.” Macy pointed out the scratches on her leg.

“Oh..okay..” Thomas did as he said.

“Yeah.” Nikki said. She was glad that Macy hadn’t noticed the scratch on her cheek. Nikki hated to cause anyone worry.

“Thank you.” Otis said, pulling the canoe with all of his strength, such as he could, being weighed back by the rushing water. He pulled himself by the trees.

“Are you sure?” Macy noticed the scratches on her leg and her cheek.

“Are you sure you don’t need any help?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. You keep your life jacket over your face.” Nikki said.

“I’m sure.” Otis said.

“O-okay..” She did as Nikki said.

“Just tell me if you do..”

“I have a feeling that we’re not too terrible far from camp-maybe 150 yards?” Nikki said.

“Okay.” Otis said. He was racking his brain, trying to decide if he should tell Thomas why he was this way.

"Yeah, we have been walking for a while." Macy responded.

Thomas watched him carefully, knowing he was hiding something.

Otis continued to face and walk forwards, still fairly slowly.

Nikki kept walking. "Keep your life jacket up over your face. This part's really thorny." she said, as she began to hum.

(I'm super hungry for some more adventure in this RP, i dont know why)

(also I love how nikki and thomas are kind of the same and then otis and macy are kind of the same)

Thomas sighed and looked arpund at their surroundings.

Macy did so and found Nikki's humming weirdly comforting.

(okay so I'm totally not saying that you have to do this but I had this idea)
(so you know how Macy hates water?)
(like, they could walk out closer to the water, and Macy could slip and like, be on a small ledge over the water)
(like I said, you totally dont have to do this it was just an idea :)

Otis looked back at Thomas, then faced forward.

Nikki hummed some more.

(Ooooo either of those would be fun)

Thomas hoped that Macy and Nikki were safe.

Macy sighed and continued walking.

There was a small drop that led to the water right in front of Macy. “Macy, watch out!” Nikki shouted.

Otis was racking his brain, still. Should I tell him? Should I wait for him to ask? What if he doesn’t ask? I can’t tell him randomly, but I have to tell him about it… he thought to himself. “About an eighth mile yet.” he said.

Macy looked over at her, expecting there to be something in the air, taking a step forward. She fell into the water and let out a shriek.

"Okay..are you okay? You don't look so good.."

"Macy!" Nikki let out an arm, using her feet to hook herself on a branch. "Take my hand."

"I'm fine…it's just…something that I have." Otis said.

Macy panicked, her vision blurring. She heard Nikki shout but could't make out her hand.

"Do..do you want to talk about it?"
