Skye hummed softly to himself, "Why did you chase me down out there anyway?"
Skye hummed softly to himself, "Why did you chase me down out there anyway?"
"I- don't know. It was just… impulse I guess." Connie guessed, not really having a clue herself. "There was no real reason behind it."
Skye nodded, letting out a soft sigh.
"I do that a lot, speak or act before thinking." She mumbled, knowing she had done it again. "I can't even control it."
"You probably can" said Skye softly, "Probably just haven't figured that part out yet."
"Well when I figure it out, you'll be the first to know." She said sarcastically, tightening her fist as soon as she had said it.
Skye hummed softly in response, just wanting to sleep this nightmare away.
Connie fell quiet too, feeling embarrassed. This boy obviously had much more experience than her, and she was trying to boast at nothing. She was clearly a wreck, and he knew better.
It wasn't that Skye knew better, but more the fact that he had the experience of staying away from the law for most of his life.
Connie rubbed her face once more, feeling awkward in the silence. "Should we… like go to bed?"
Skye hummed softly, "Possibly.." he said, "Are you tired?"
"I mean… kinda yeah. But I can stay up if you need me to." Connie responded with a shrug, holding back any signs she was actually incredibly tired. Though of course he would know, so why bother to hide it?
Skye shrugged, "If you need sleep I really can't stop you…." he said softly.
"I can stop myself. I stay up late really often, if you need to not be stuck in one place, I can stay awake." She muttered, running her fingers through her hair. "But if you're going to bed, I might as well."
Skye gave a soft sigh, "You may as well go to sleep then…" he said softly.
Giving a huff back, she looked to him. "Listen, I don't want to bother you. More than I am. You've already brought me to where you're staying, and put up with me the whole way. My requests don't need to be filled out here. Are you tired, and do you want to go to sleep?"
"I am tired, I would love sleep, but I'm not sleepy which is a good sign that I'll be up all night like it or not."
"Then I won't. Simple as that." Connie shrugged, attempting to prepare herself for the long, sleepless night to come. He would argue, but she could argue right back.
Skye just shrugged, "Suit yourself." he said softly.
"So what do we do until morning?" She asked just as softly as him.
"I dunno, what do you wanna do?"
Pushing up off the couch, rather awkwardly at that, she gave a slight shrug as she stretched out. "We could go sit outside, in the night air. It was a nice night, and it was already late when we got taken in. Maybe we can see the sunrise."
Skye hummed, "I know a path to the roof if you wanna go up there?" he suggested, getting to his feet.
(Slowly I'm getting La La Land vibes…)(You know, without the music or dancing :P)
Quickly pulling her hair up into a ponytail, she nodded. "Sure, why not?" Connie hummed, trying not to cross her arms over her chest.
