Skye gave her a mischivous smile, "Cool, it's this way.
Skye gave her a mischivous smile, "Cool, it's this way.
Being wary of the look he gave her, she slowly followed along behind him. Right now, she was thinking mindless thoughts, so it didn't matter if he read into them.
SKye led her up an old set of stairs to a rotting door, pushing it open with his uncuffed hand and leading her outside onto the roof of the warehouse, seeming to visibly relax as his eyes drifted to the starry sky above.
Connie had a small smile creep up on her lips at the sight of the sky. "It's pretty." She hummed softly, pressing her lips together. It truly was beautiful, but Connie wasn't one to get giggly over something like that. Very rarely did she ever get giggly.
Skye nodded, "Not just pretty, beautiful." he said softly, seeming to have become completely relaxed compared to earlier.
“That’s a surprise coming from you. I didn’t think you’d be interested in something like natural beauty.” Connie remarked, stuffing her free hand into her back pocket.
"The stars are my element, it's only natural I'd find them beautiful."
"True," She hummed, walking to the edge of the building. "It really is pretty out. The way the city below is so oddly dark." Connie mumbled, sitting down on the edge.
Skye smiled, sitting next to her, and scooting forward so he could lay back.
"You're awfully close to the edge." She mentioned, picturing the part where he fell off… pulling herself with him. Of course, she was also sitting pretty close. So why it bothered her that he fell off, she didn't know.
Skye hummed, "Chill alright? If we fall, I'm good with portals."
Connie was taken aback, falling silent at his words. She turned her head, to look at anything but him. Though she kept her thoughts clear, so he couldn't read them. They wouldn't be anything good, so why bother thinking them.
Skye ignored her, focused on silently tracing constellations with his eyes.
Connie scanned over the field, catching siren lights off in the distance. "Probably looking for us." She mumbled, watching them turn off to a street opposite of them.
Skye nodded, "Probably, let me know if they get any closer."
"Will do. But the way they're headed, we shouldn't have to worry." Connie whispered, pursing her lips. She never liked begin silent, when she knew the other could talk. It made her uncomfortable. So being here with him, was agony.
Skye didn't answer, finding the silence comfortable.
(I feel like we're both kind of getting stuck. Maybe it's just me. Do we wanna skip a day or two?)
(Yeah.. I been feeling that way too…. we can try a skip. When to?)
(Maybe like two days from now? Having each other starting to get along better?)
(That might work)
(Would you like me to go first?)
(Yes please!)
(Alright, give me just a sec!)
A day or so had already passed, and Connie was starting to get restless. She hated that they had to stay hidden, and being with him didn't help. Maybe it was just her being too sensitive, but she felt like he was critiquing for every little detail. It wouldn't surprise her if he was also getting restless.
"Come on, it's been days. Can't we just leave for a little bit?" She begged him, trying not to move around too much.
