A day or so had already passed, and Connie was starting to get restless. She hated that they had to stay hidden, and being with him didn't help. Maybe it was just her being too sensitive, but she felt like he was critiquing for every little detail. It wouldn't surprise her if he was also getting restless.
"Come on, it's been days. Can't we just leave for a little bit?" She begged him, trying not to move around too much.
Skye sighed, "Not a good idea. Not unless you want to get caught." he said firmly. "We should be able to get moving sometime tomorrow, but until then our best option for survival is to stay here."
Sighing weakly, Connie fell back into her seat. "This is driving me crazy… I can't just stay inside forever." Muttering to herself, she subconsciously started pulling on the cuffs. Do to her rough nature, she had been trying to rip them off since the night on the roof. Being bound to him was not ideal in the slightest.
Skye let out a long breath, his facade of calm cracking a little, "Tell me about it… but at the same time I'd rather be stuck inside by choice than in some cell."
Connie glanced down at where she was digging the metal into her wrist, keeping her voice low. "Isn't there a third option?" She knew being childish wasn't going to help their situation, but she couldn't help it.
"Not really. I would've left for the woods by now… but I can't move us both fast enough and safe enough with these stupid cuffs.
"And there's practically no way to get them off…" Connie muttered, ignoring the stinging pain from the metal rubbing against her skin. "Just think about it, would it ever be possible to go to the woods instead?"
"It'd be risky." said Skye, "Too risky for my comfort."
“Well. This is hopeless.” Connie muttered, dropping her hand to the side. She had given up trying to get it off. “Are we doing the same thing as yesterday? Or did you have something else in mind?”
"As I said, we should be able to move out tomorrow, so we should probably take today to prepare…"
“Yeah… probably not a bad idea. But how much preparing can we actually do?” Connie asked dully, tapping her foot anxiously on the ground. “I mean, how are we suppose to prepare for living on the run?”
"Discuss strategies for how we're gonna do things, maybe even decide where the hell we're gonna go?" asked Skye.
Connie nodded, knowing he was right. “Right. That makes sense.” She mumbled, pushing up out of her seat once more. “Clearly we need somewhere to stay.”
"Yes, and preferably far from here." he said softly, "Therefore, a destination."
"I'm not an idiot, Skye. I know what a destination is." Connie mutter coldly, slowly starting to pace back and forth. It wasn't working well, since he was also cuffed to her. "We probably should find a way out of the city first. Otherwise this whole thing will be futile."
Skye hummed, "I know a few ways out, but which one we use depends on where we plan on going."
“Well, at least we have a few options.” Connie mumbled, glancing around the room. “What about out on Benson side? I’d rather go somewhere else, but we can’t really be picky.”
