The night sky was painted with clouds, floating by with the steady wind of the night air. The moon at it's waxing phase, hung in the night sky. The streets were illuminated by the tall street lamps, lit brightly. The stars were barely visible, hidden behind clouds or invisible because of the bright streets. Sounds of people laughing, party music, and motorized transportation whizzed around echoing down the quieter streets.
Connie pulled the bright yellow bandanna over her nose as she shook the spray paint can. A smile was hidden under the thin cloth, and shadowed by the bill of her baseball cap. "This is gonna be great." She laughed a bit with a hum. She held her hand out, a can of paint coming to her empty one. She knocked the lids off of both of them with her thumb nail, still shaking them up. "As long as I don't get caught." She muttered.
(I apologize ahead of time if I'm slow, today's my first day of school in 2020, and I have a lot of stuff to get done,)
(Also I didn't sleep very well last night, and therefore don't have enough brain energy for the roleplays I really care about, (This one for ex.) so I may not reply at all today.)
(Oh- ok. We coulda waited a few weeks into school, I believe that’s why we put this on hold in the first place lol)
(I'll be fine tomorrow, and for the next half an hour because my art teacher isn't here and I can't do shit now)
(okie, but you don’t have to)

Skye took a breath, looking up at the night sky for a moment, before turning his attention back to the store. It was your typical grocery store. Guarded by stupid guard bots, as usual. He was also hungry. And had no money, or job, or house. Whelp… at least if I get caught I get a roof over my head he thought, before moving forward, staying to the shadows as he moved to the side entrance, pulling out the tools he needed to hack the lock.
(okie, but you don’t have to)
(I literally have nothing else to do right now so for the sake of my own need to be doing something here I am.)
The paint smell was strong, but Connie was used to the smell. Probably not a good thing, but she was and there wasn’t much to do about it now. She had spent years working on street art, so of course it wouldn’t bother her. She stepped back from the scene displayed on the wall, a grin on her face. If anyone saw her here, she’d be in a ridiculous amount of trouble, but she didn’t care. The wall had The face of their nation’s leader, and words that weren’t fit for a child to see. She was trying to catch the attention of the officials, she was trying to start a rebellion of a sorts. “Maybe they’ll finally get it.” She whispered dropping the spray can with a sigh of admiration.
Skye smiled when the door swung open for him, and quickly stowed his stuff, slipping inside and into the aisles, heading for the vegetable section first, loading his pockets with fruit, then grabbing a couple loaves of bread, and some cheese, hoping to be able to make a supply of sandwhiches.
Picking up her bag, she slung it over her shoulder. She yanked the yellow cloth down so you could see the smile on her lips. Most days, she wasn't this happy, but today was different. Connie pulled her hood down to run a hand through her hair, skipping down the side walk and clicking her heels as she did. Something caught the corner of her eye, and she turned to see someone entering one of the stores. After pausing to understand what she had just saw, she walked over cautiously, pulling her hood back up.
Skye ran to the cans aisle, grabbing a few cans of beans too while he was at it, before grabbing an unsuspicious backpack to put it all in, and heading for the door after he'd ripped the tags off.
Connie was walking up to the door, shaking up one her cans of spray paint. It wouldn't do much, but if she looked defenseless, maybe she had a shot at taking down whoever this was in surprise. The bandana was pulled over her nose again, and her hat held lower. She stepped up to the door, ready to attack if she needed to.
Skye crept up to the way he came in cautiously, shifting the weight in his new backpack, before bolting, attempting to dash out into the alley and make a run for it.
Connie squeaked, and stumbled backwards. "Hey!" She called after the escaping figure. "You come back here!" She shouted running after him, her sneakers echoing as they made an obnoxiously loud noise. "Darn shoes."
Skye mentally panicked when he heard someone call out and start chasing him, pushing himself to go faster, jumping up on some old crates to a fire escape, dashing up the stairs to the roof as fast as possible.
Connie followed to her best extent, though climbing the ladder slowed her down. He foot slipped from one of the rungs, and she had to regain herself before continuing on up. "Stop!" She yelled again once she had made it up to the roof.
Skye was already halfway to the other edge, his breathing getting heavier as he put on another burst of speed, determined to get to the next roof, then drop down into an alleyway.
"Wait a minute, I can fly!" She groaned with a face palm. Her feet lifted off the ground, and she zipped off after him. "Come. Back." She yelled again, coming up to him. "Seriously, this is a little ridiculous."
Skye panicked slightly, summoning his auras and opening a portal, dashing through it and ending up on a rooftop several meters away, still running.
"Ahhh!" She squeaked, halting. "What in the-" Connie caught sight of the figure over the rooftop a bit away. "You little… SERIOUSLY!? Just stop!" She groaned zooming off.
Skye was still running, his breathing heavy as he jumped rooftops, trying to get away, "Seriously just leave me alone!" he yelled.
“I would if you weren’t being suspicious!” She yelled back trying to catch up to him. “Just come back!” She shouted, her voice starting to get scratchy.
"And what happens when I do?!" called Skye, positive she just wanted to make a citizen's arrest, and send him to jail. As mentioned earlier, if that did happen, at least he'd have a roof over his head. But on the other hand, he valued his freedom.
“Nothing! I don’t even have my phone on me!” She shouted back, knowing she didn’t really want to get arrested. If she showed her face to the police station, she’d be taken in on the spot. “And besides, I can’t show my face to the station anyways!”
