Megan swallowed nervously. "Please… Leave me alone." She started to walk around Savannah, but the other girl stepped in her way.
"What?" she hissed.
Megan swallowed nervously. "Please… Leave me alone." She started to walk around Savannah, but the other girl stepped in her way.
"What?" she hissed.
"Push past her," He whispered again, moving his hand to her other shoulder as he moved to put himself between Savannah and Megan.
Megan hurriedly walked away, her heart pounding in her chest.
Fyn smiled in relief when she walked away, happy that a fight didn't break out between the two of them.
Megan ducked away and whispered softly. "Fyn?"
"Here." He replied in a barely audible whisper, resting his hand on her shoulder again, "What do you need?"
"I can't believe I just did that!" she whispered-exclaimed. "Do you think she'll get back at me for that?"
A smile appeared on his face and he nodded, "You did absolutely amazing Megan, but yes I think she will get back at you. All you'll have to do though is stand up to her again until she doesn't bother you anymore."
"I don't know if I can go through that again…" she said quietly. "You have to help me, Fyn."
"What do you need me to help you with?" He asked, "I don't know how much I'm allowed to help you besides keeping you strong, but I'll do absolutely everything I can."
She smiled weakly. "Thank you," she whispered.
"No, thank you," He replied, smiling even though she couldn't see him, "Now, let's get to class."
Megan nodded and rushed to her first period, just making it before the bell.
Fyn followed her, going through what he could do to help Megan with Savannah in his mind as her class went on.
Whenever Megan raised her hand in class, Savannah, Matt, or any of the cheerleaders would glare at her. She stayed silent the whole day.
"I have a plan," Fyn whispered in Megan's ear when the bell rang that signified the end of the school day, "But it requires us getting out of school and back to your house without running into the cheerleaders or Matt."
"And how am I supposed to do that?" she asked, glancing around worriedly.
"Megan?" a voice asked behind her.
Megan whipped around to see– "Justin?!"
Justin smiled shyly. "Yeah. Hey, I'm really sorry about everything going on between you and Savannah."
"Oh. That. It's… uh–" Megan stammered.
Fyn watched her talk silently, his gaze flicking around the school and eventually settling on Justin so he could make sure nothing was going to happen to Megan.
Justin smiled and leaned in close to Megan's face. She held her breath. His lips tickled her ear when he spoke. "I think you're really pretty, Megan." He pulled away, winked and headed down the hall.
Megan leaned against the lockers, star struck, clutching her books to her chest.
A small smile broke onto Fyn's face and he rested a hand on Megan's shoulder, "You going to follow him?" He asked gently, "That, was fun to watch."
"If I follow him, he'll think that's creepy," she argued quietly, watching him go.
"Megan, he won't think it's creepy," He assured her, "Trust me, did you see how close he got to you?"
Megan blushed at the reminded. "Oh my gosh…"
"Get going." He laughed softly, shaking his head, "Follow him, I'm curious to see what happens."
Megan hurried after her crush. She peeked around a corner and spotted him at the end of the hallway.
