Lucas stirred after a bit, snuggling closer to Callie in his dazed, sleepy state. Everything about his visible skin was basically perfect. It was smooth and soft and had no blemishes; only a light blush.
Lucas stirred after a bit, snuggling closer to Callie in his dazed, sleepy state. Everything about his visible skin was basically perfect. It was smooth and soft and had no blemishes; only a light blush.
Callie looked down at him, blushing a little more. Again he reflected on his own situation. An adorable, perfect prince was asleep, practically in his lap, and here he was, underserving of any of this, but at the same time rather happy with it.
When Lucas woke up more and realized what position he was in, he quickly sat up and began fervently signing apologies over and over. His face flushed bright red in embarrassment. He was the prince, after all; he'd been taught all his life to never let his guard down, to be dignified all the time. At the same time, he'd actually really enjoyed the closeness of another person…
Callie smiled a little bit at his reaction, signing 'it's okay', noting but not mentioning that it was harder to sign because of his rusted hands. He hadn't at all minded, in fact he had rather enjoyed it.
Lucas still seemed nervous, his hands trembling. Are you sure? I really don't want to make you uncomfortable.
You didn't. You're the prince, Callie reminded him, quickly getting up to grab his now-dry hoodie and handing it back to him once he sat back down.
But that isn't an excuse to make other people uncomfortable. Lucas gave Callie his jacket back, pulling on his own.
Callie put his own jacket back on, signing slowly once he was done. His hands were moving slower and slower as each minute passed, although he didn't bring it up. It's okay. You didn't.
Lucas noticed and gently lifted Callie's hand, examining it closely. Your hand is rusted. He looked up at Callie with a worried look. Come to the castle. We will fix it.
Callie's eyes widened in disbelief. He couldn't believe what Lucas had said. With his other hand, he signed slowly. You want to go back? With me?
Of course. It is my fault your hand is not in perfect condition. Lucas put his hood up and started pulling Callie out the door.
Callie stood, following him out the door and making sure to close and lock it behind him, before keeping up with him on the streets outside. It was lighter now, light enough to see someone even if they did have a hood up.
"Prince Lucas!" Lucas froze at the sound of someone's voice, looking up. "Um…" A few more people looked over at him at this exclamation. "The guards are looking for you, your majesty!" Lucas stepped back a bit. "Uh… yeah. Thanks for the concern, but, um… I really can't stick around!" He started running, still clutching Callie's hand.
Callie had learned to only follow people's actions and not their mouths, so he followed Lucas farther towards the center of the city, where the castle would be.
Lucas made it to the castle, holding his hood in a way that his face was obscured. He stood at the gates in front of the guards. "Let me in!"
"Sir, we're going to need some identification-" Lucas tore off his hood, stony faced as he looked up at the guards.
"Prince Lucas!" They gasped, bowing their heads. "Our deepest apologies, your majesty. Come in. The king and queen are very worried. Who have you brought with you?"
"It's none of your concern, Damian. He's with me, and that should be enough for you."
"Yes, yes of course, Prince… apologies again." Lucas sighed.
"Relax with the apologies. Just please let me in." They opened the gates and Lucas brought Callie inside.
Callie gazed around at all of the castle splendor, all of it so very new to him, just like the city had been new to Lucas. He followed Lucas through each of the halls, his eyes sparkling with wonder even as he heard nothing.
What kind of room do you need to go to? Lucas signed before continuing to walk, ignoring the servants in the halls.
Oil, Callie signed back simply, his hands moving to slow to sign anything more. He just needed his hands to be oiled, and then they would work again. He really didn't care what room, it was all so royal.
Lucas thought for a moment. Where would they have oil? Cooking oil wouldn't work, of course, so the kitchen was out. They didn't really own cars; just horses, although they did have one or two cars in case they needed to go somewhere quickly. The mechanic would probably be best. Lucas led Callie through several winding halls and staircases before reaching a small room. He went inside, revealing a little place with a middle aged man and a car. There were a couple containers of oil on the walls.
Callie looked up, looking around the room quickly before focusing his attention on the man. He raised one of his arms in greeting, but also to show how rusty it had become.
"Hey Isaac." Lucas greeted the man politely, the mechanic bowing. "You don't need to do that… this is my friend, Callie. His arms got rusted and they need oil. Oh, he's also deaf, so he won't hear you if you ask questions."
Callie glanced from the mechanic back to Lucas, amazed at how even the mechanic's room was in pristine condition, and how the mechanic had just bowed to him. A royal mechanic, bowing to Callie. Callie, who had flown in illegally from Australia without anyone's knowledge.
((he has a good heart lol he just does crappy things without thinking))
(Ooft)
Lucas got some oil from the mechanic and turned to Callie. I am sorry. I do not know how to use the oil. He handed to Callie, hoping the other knew what to do. The mechanic could help if worst came to worst.
((this also means that if he could speak it would have an Australian accent))
Callie smiled at Lucas, reassuring him that he did in fact know how to use the oil. He sat on the floor cross-legged, starting to apply the oil to one one his hands slowly.
(Aww)
Lucas sat down beside him to make sure everything was going okay, getting startled when his father came in. He stood up immediately, bowing his head, and the mechanic bowed low. "F-Father, I-"
"Lucas! What were you thinking?!" Lucas flinched, trembling slightly.
"I… I just wanted to see the city…"
