Callie walked through the darkened streets of the city, his arms covered by his jacket sleeves and his metal hands shoved into his pockets. It was just dawn, but he had somewhere to go. For a friend. Who now lives in Mexico.
Lucas walked through the street with his hood up, looking around constantly to make sure he wasn't being followed by guards. He knew he'd likely be recognized by everyone if he let his hood down, so he stayed hidden. He heard horses approaching in the distance and broke into a run, panting.
Callie heard horses and looked to the side of the road, sticking close to the walls. No one wanted to be caught by the royal guards, but especially not him. He hadn't done anything intentionally, of course, but things happen in different countries sometimes, and they're not all good.
(But isn't he deaf lol)
Lucas ducked into an alley and waited for the horses to pass. Once he'd decided they were far enough away, he turned the corner and immediately slammed into someone, falling back onto the ground. "Ah…" He groaned, holding his head. He'd torn the elbow of his jacket and gashed his elbow, his pure white blood spilling onto the pavement.
((Oh oopsies I'm dumb))
Callie stumbled back, looking in surprise down at the person who'd just knocked into him. His hand was already halfway out of his pocket to help him up before he paused, considering. His arms and hands were not always…accepted, but hell, he'd already seen them. So Callie held out his mechanical arm all the way.
"S-Sorry… I… I should've been watching where I was going…" Lucas stammered, letting the stranger help him up and sincerely hoping he wouldn't be recognized, though he figured he would. He was too disoriented to pay too much mind to Callie's mechanical arm. "Thanks…"
Callie shook his head quickly and pointed to his ear, indicating he was deaf while quickly looking the boy over. He looked vaguely familiar, although he couldn't quite place where from.
"Oh! Um…" Lucas thought for a moment before clumsily signing the same thing he'd previously said. He dusted off his jacket, seeming nervous.
Callie's eyes widened in surprise. He could sign. That was a little abnormal for around here, but he would go with it. It's okay, He signed back quickly. And then, You look familiar. My name's Callie. Do I know you?
Lucas took a moment to decipher what Callie had said. My name is Lucas. You probably know me. Please do not turn me in. He glanced down at his white blood staining the ground.
Callie paused for a moment, recognization hitting him. Of course. It was the prince. It was the…oh my god, it was the prince. Anxiety started slowly racking his body, but he didn't let it show.
I won't. What are you doing? Callie signed back cautiously.
I never get to do anything. He paused, looking away with a light flush on his pale cheeks. I ran away. I will go back, but I want to see the city.
But he was a cute prince. And the anxiety was building at this. Callie blushed a little bit, but his tan skin hid it a little. Do you know where you're going?
