“I can be fun… at my house. When we have all night.” Veronica told her, a deep blush rising to her cheeks even though she was the one that spoke the words. Veronica busied herself with grabbing her lunch bag and grabbing a sandwich out, because she knew that if she looked into Elaine’s beautiful eyes she wouldn’t be able to stop herself again.
Elaine felt her cheeks grow hot at the comment, heart rate accelerating. "O-Oh. Y-Yeah, sure, just…." she swallowed, reaching for her lunch. "Nothing more than.. the usual, if that's okay. I don't want to– you know what I mean."
“Me neither,” Veronica added immediately, hoping she didn’t make Elaine uncomfortable at all. “I- I actually like the usual. I just, I want to make you happy. Even if it meant- even if it meant coming out of my comfort zone. I would be lying if I said that I’m not relieved.” Veronica relaxed, a small weight of pressure now lifted off her shoulder knowing Elaine didn’t want to go that far. She leaned back against the oak tree and smiled a little bit at Elaine.
Elaine breathed out a relieved sigh, smiling gratefully. "I- Promise me you'll never push yourself to do things that you're not comfortable with just to make me happy. Tell me if I'm ever hurting you in any way, or if you need a break from something."
“You could never hurt me,” Veronica told her softly, a smile dancing on her lips. “And I’d never need a break from you.” She kissed Elaine’s cheek softly as if to emphasize it. “But let’s make a deal out of it, I’ll tell you if I’m not comfortable with anything from now on as long as you tell me if I ever make you uncomfortable.” It felt nice to get that out, so they were both open to each other and on the same page.
Elaine relaxed fully, leaning against Veronica. "Yeah," she replied softly. "Yeah, that's more than okay. I'm glad we've set some ground rules– I don't want to do anything wrong."
“Me either, I don’t want to mess this up. It’s the best thing I’ve had in a long time,” Veronica told her quietly, letting out another relieved sigh before taking a bite of her turkey sandwich before offering it to Elaine, “Wanna try a bite?”
"Me too…" Elaine took the sandwich, offering some of her bagel to Veronica with a smile. "Sure, thanks." She reached up to pull the clasp from her dark hair, letting it tumble down over her shoulders in a thick curtain.
Veronica stole a tiny bite of the bagel, smiling a little when Elaine put her hair down, “Will you let me braid that someday?” Veronica asked with her lips curling upwards, “It’s so long and pretty.”
Elaine's cheeks grew warm, and she self-consciously rubbed at the nape of her neck. "For sure. You can- you can braid it right now, if you want. Or is it too messy?"
(sorry for my awful one/two-liners, I'm sorta tired)
(Don’t worry about it, I have those days/moments/times too all the time)
“It’s perfect. You’re always perfect.” Veronica told her with a smile, hands already finding their way to Elaine’s hair. It was so soft… she took her sweet time weaving Elaine’s hair into a loose, beautiful braid.
(thanks Rvan)
Elaine let her eyes fall shut, pouring every ounce of her energy into her awareness of Veronica's fingers skimming her neck, tugging lightly on her hair– she was the only thing on her mind. Veronica used such careful, tender movements, it made her want to melt into a puddle.
Veronica thankfully had a hair tie to finish it off, smiling at how it looked on Elaine. “You are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.” She set her half eaten sandwich back in her lunch bag leaning in and kissing Elaine sweetly.
Elaine melted into the kiss, working her lips tenderly into Veronica’s. “That’s clearly you, not me,” she whispered softly, tangling her fingers in the other girl’s hair. “You’re stunning.”
“You’re perfect,” Veronica told her, then let her hands slide to Elaine’s waist and then gently tugged her closer. “I still can’t believe that I kissed you. I still can’t believe that here we are, together. It’s like a dream…” Veronica kissed her again, savoring every part about the girl in front of her.
Elaine leaned into the touch, her fingers running up Veronica’s arms to her shoulders. “If it’s a dream, then I never want to wake up…” She opened up completely, letting the other girl have her taste while she focused on memorizing every single part of her. “I never in a million years thought that this might happen..”
“Me… neither…” Veronica murmured between kisses, hands travelling up and down Elaine’s back as she deepened the kiss. She couldn’t get enough of Elaine, she just wanted more, more, more. “I… love… you…”
Elaine pressed closer, giving herself up to this wonder of a girl, this girl who she would give her life for. "I think those are my new favourite words…." she told Veronica between kisses. Passion roared through her, and she made sure that the other girl could tell, bunching the back of her shirt up in her fists, drawing her closer, closer.
Veronica was obsessed. She was addicted. She would never get enough. Her tongue danced over Elaine’s lip again, desiring to keep that taste with her forever. She wanted Elaine to be with her forever, Veronica never wanted to give this up.
Elaine let out a soft moan, opening her mouth to let Veronica in. She was never going to be able to let this go, never in a million years. Because this was Veronica. Her Veronica. And she’d never felt this way about anyone before.
Veronica was having the best moment of her life. It seemed like it could only get better and better the longer she stayed around Elaine. She didn’t feel lonely anymore, not even when she was alone- she was always too busy thinking about Elaine.
Finally, Elaine had to pull away, a smile dancing on her lips. “I don’t think I could ever get tired of this…..” For the first time in a while, she was truly happy, relaxed. Completely comfortable around someone else, no worries, no doubts attached. And it felt amazing.
“I’ll always love this,” Veronica sighed happily, a lazy smile appearing on her face, “I’ll always love you.” She intertwined her hands with Elaine’s, smiling at their interlocking fingers.
Elaine rubbed her thumbs along the side of Veronica's forefingers, bringing both her hands up to kiss them lightly. Her eyes sparkled in the sunlight, happiness shone from each feature. "I'll always love you too…" she whispered, like they were sharing a secret.
