Elaine's eyes trailed after her, taking in her face, her blue-tipped hair, the elegant way she moved.
Elaine Davids, you are never going to be able to let her go.
And it was the truth. In all of her life, with all of her crushes, she had never felt like this. This– this was love. And it was the only thing that mattered right now.
Veronica texted her parents, and the text back read:
Alright, but we might be home late, work is busy today
Veronica was once again happy that her parents worked in the same company. And she was even more happy she’d get time alone with Elaine. Just the two of us… Her heart fluttered at the thought, which made her shake her head at herself before heading back to Elaine. She made sure to grab their backpacks too, so they wouldn’t be rushing on the way out to school, trying to get everything.
Elaine grinned happily, moving to help her.
"What did they say?" She made sure to 'accidentally' bump hips with her 'friend'. Once again, she had to mentally restrain herself from pinning Veronica against the wall and kissing her.
Veronica’s heart seemed to be fluttering away in the wind at this point, “You can come over, in fact, my parents are working late tonight,” She told her with an excited smile, leaning her head on Elaine’s shoulder. I love her… Gosh darn I love her.
Elaine's arm was quickly around Veronica's side, resting just above the curve of her hip to tug her closer. "I can't wait." They stayed in that position for a bit, completely comfortable in the other's presence, until a strong sense of basorexia welled up inside Elaine and she couldn't stand it anymore. Gently turning Veronica, she pushed her against the wall and leaned in.
Veronica’s eyes lit up with desire and need. Gosh, she loved Elaine. And she wanted Elaine’s lips on her again, she needed it. Her hands travelled their way up Elaine’s back, moving to rest on her soft neck. Kiss me.
Elaine smirked and brushed her lips against Veronica's, tempting her, pushing her towards the edge. She leaned in again, fast, as if she was going to crush their lips together, but slowed down and tilted her head at the last second, kissing the corner of her mouth gently before pulling away. Her fingers trailed up and down Veronica's jaw and neck.
“You are cruel,” Veronica breathed, not able to hold herself back any longer. She held the back of Elaine’s head gently as her lips crashed into her, desire lacing every movement. Elaine Elaine Elaine Elaine Elaine. The name pounded with each heartbeat, fueling Veronica’s want.
Elaine let a soft gasp slip, letting her lips move in sync with Veronica's. Adrenaline coursed through her, desire flickered in her eyes like a raging bonfire. She pushed the other girl harder against the wall, wanting more, needing more. Veronica tasted like chocolate– and her mouth was so warm, so welcoming– Elaine couldn't resist flicking her tongue across her lower lip.
Veronica opened her mouth to Elaine, moaning into the kiss. Her hands couldn’t get enough of Elaine, she couldn’t get close enough to her. Her lips were so soft, her everything was so addicting. Veronica didn’t want this feeling of need to ever end- because it was a need for Elaine.
Elaine grinned into the kiss, not hesitating for a second when Veronica opened her mouth to her. Everything had escalated so quickly since last night– and Elaine loved it. She loved Veronica. She pressed closer still, exploring the other girl's mouth as tenderly as she could manage.
Veronica wanted to give her everything. Every single cell in her body, she wanted to belong to Elaine. Veronica had never felt this way before. Not on the small crushes she got every once and a while, never before. This feeling in her chest was caused by Elaine and Elaine only, this pounding need for her.
Finally, Elaine's eyes fluttered open and she forced herself to pull away, her mouth numb. "Veronica…." she finally managed, breathless. "I- I'm yours. I don't care what you do to me– I– I'm yours. All yours." Her heart thundered, squeezing painfully as she took in all of Veronica's face, her beautiful, flawless face. This girl– this girl made her hurt. She made her hurt so bad.
But she'd never been this addicted to pain before.
Veronica had trouble remembering how to speak properly, “I’m yours. Everything from me, it’s all yours.” She echoed, lost in Elaine’s perfect beauty. “My everything belongs to you,” Veronica promised to her, grabbing Elaine’s hand and guiding it to Veronica’s chest to rest over her heart. “Yours.”
All of a sudden, Elaine felt like she was about to cry. Here was a girl– an amazing, indescribable, girl– who loved her. Who was willing to give up everything for her. She could feel herself filling up with emotion, choking everything she was about to say. There was too much, anyways. Far too much.
She could feel Veronica's heart– her blessedly beating heart– pounding beneath her fingers, in sync with her own, and she guided the other girl's hand to her chest by way of answer.

This feeling in Veronica’s chest was foreign. It was a feeling just for the girl standing before her. Love. True, pure love. She was lost in the feeling, lost in the other girl. Her eyes, her nose, her lips, her everything was so beautiful. The world could’ve ended right there and then, and Veronica wouldn’t have cared. Because she was with Elaine, and that’s all that mattered. Something flickered inside of Veronica as she gazed into Elaine’s eyes, and suddenly she had a reason. A reason to keep trying, a reason to care.
(I feel you there)
Elaine suddenly surged forward and wrapped her arms around Veronica in a tight hug, tears pricking the corners of her eyes. “Thank you—“ she whispered fiercely. “For everything. Everything. You—“ she choked on whatever she was going to say next.
“Shhh… you don’t have to thank me for anything…” Veronica told her softly, then kissed the corners of Elaine’s eyes gently. She knew that feeling, that feeling they probably both shared. Veronica loved her more than anything, she loved being alive because of her.
Elaine leaned her forehead against Veronica’s, her arms still around the other girl. “But I do have to thank you— for everything. I— thank you.” She squeezed Veronica tightly.
Veronica kissed her softly on the lips, although she made herself keep it quick and chaste. “Thank you. But we’re going to be late for school at this rate,” She let out a small laugh, eyes sparkling with joy from being with Elaine.
Elaine made a tiny noise of complaint when Veronica pulled away, but forced herself to bend down and house her backpack over her shoulder. “You’re a tease, you know that, right?” she grumbled jokingly.
“Only for you, love,” Veronica winked, amusement dancing over her face as she grabbed her own backpack. Today would be too long, it would be too long before she got to kiss Elaine again. But for the time being, she grabbed the girl’s hand and intertwined their fingers for the walk to school.
Elaine exhaled happily, leaning her head on Veronica’s shoulder as they walked. As soon as they neared the school, she quickly detangled their fingers and stepped away, placing a mask of casual friendliness on her face. Before long, she spotted Griffin chatting with Olivia, who waved them over.
Veronica forced herself to go back to the old, friendly ways. Especially in front of Olivia, who smiled and greeted, “Hi, how are you two doing?” She was nice, but… Veronica couldn’t take a chance mentioning anything to her. It’d just get back to her parents in the end.
"Hey, Liv." Elaine put on her best smile, doing her best to clear her face of all flusterdness.
It seemed to work on Olivia, but not on Griffin, who cocked a questioning eyebrow. "You good, Elaine? You seem… I dunno, shy."
Shite.
Elaine swallowed, hastily thinking up a lie to cover up her slip.
"I'm fine– I, er- I got a text from a guy yesterday.. a really cute one.." All she had to do was think of Veronica moaning into her mouth, and she was flushed all over again, which put on a good show for the other two. Griffin grinned. "And who, pray tell, is this mystery boy?"
Elaine gave him a teasing– but noticeably embarrassed– smile. "You'll have to wait and see."
"Wait, so Veronica knows and I don't?" he pouted, clearly joking, and Elaine decided to play her wining card.
"That's hardly fair, you hypocrite, it's not exactly as if you've been telling us everything going down between you and Estella…" Griffin reddened, spluttering. As if she had been summoned, Estella ran up to them, grinning broadly.
