"I would call it… trust," she replied quietly, looking into his eyes meaningfully.
"I would call it… trust," she replied quietly, looking into his eyes meaningfully.
He breathed a laugh and nodded "yes, that is a very big part of it. Some would say the most important." He glanced at her
She looked away quickly, then looked back after a second. "I'm sorry."
"What for, love?" he tilted her head so she was forced to look him in the eyes "I trust you. Just you're actions are sometimes questionable." he teased with a soft smile
She blushed a bit. "That's why I'm apologizing."
He watched her and shook his head, kissing her softly "I like to think of it as an endearing quality. One of many that you have."
"Oh?" she arched her eyebrow, ignoring the fact that his kiss made the butterflies in her stomach take flight. "What are the others?"
"Well for one, how easy it is to tear down those boundaries to hold up," he said with a thoughtful tilt of his head "another one would be your hidden talents."
"What hidden talents?" she asked, turning a slightly deeper shade of red.
"Designing, for one. You're amazing at it. better than most students I've seen." he praised, smiling as he saw her face turn red. He brushed a gentle hand across her cheek
(can i stalk?)
(Of course!)
She smiled shyly and looked down. "I'm far from your skills…"
"yes, yes you are. I think I may be falling behind you." He said
Her eyes widened. "What? N-No, that's not what I meant…"
He gave a light laugh "it's what I meant, love. You're really that good." He insisted
"I'm not," she whispered, faltering for a comeback. Surely, he wasn't serious… One look into his eyes told her what she needed to know. "Am I?"
He gave her a half smile "what do you think my answers going to be? and If you don't trust my judgment, ask anyone else who's seen your work. They'll say the same as me."
"I've never tried to be better than you. I just picked it up as a hobby…" she murmured thoughtfully.
"and it has turned into your passion. That's evident in the way you work and the product you end up with. This industry isn't about 'being better.' It's about the love of the work."
Nathalie blinked. Suddenly, she had an idea, but she didn't want to tell him yet. She would eventually, just not yet. "Yes, I understand. Shouldn't we be designing out costumes for the Night Circus?" she suggested softly.
He nodded and brushed a light kiss against her temple "we really should." He sighed softly "but I'm comfortable….."
She gasped quietly. "I am too…"
He chuckled lightly, a rumbling sound from his chest "but we really should get to work…"
"I know," she murmured, closing her eyes and resting against him – in a way, preventing him from getting up.
"at this rate, we'll never get anything done." He muttered, shifting deeper in the couch, pulling her to him
