He looked down at her "put me in danger…" he repeated, his blue eyes turning icy "what could you have possibly done, that would put me in danger?" he asked slowly. "Is your life at risk? Natalie if your life is in danger tell me." he looked at her hard, trying to see past her expression "please"
Nathalie averted his gaze. She'd said too much and she knew it from his hard look. "I… I can't," she whispered. "You just have to know that I love you, and that's the reason I'm not telling you."
He stepped close to her, closing the gap between them and tilted her face towards his "if you love me, then doesn't that give you justification to tell me?" He stared down at her, wanting to protect her from this nightmare that follows her. "Natalie please." He whispered
"I can't," she replied quietly. They were so close that their lips brushed with every word.
"Yes you can, you know I wouldn't let anyone hurt you." He whispered against her lips. He turned away as Adrien came out of the house, genuinely smiling at him "How was the sleepover?"
Adrien stared as he watched his father and his caretaker practically kiss.
"Uh… it was fun…"
Nathalie backed away quickly. She cleared her throat. "Hello, Adrien."
"Good," he opened the door for him and Natalie and got in the driver's seat
Nathalie got in, her cheeks a soft pink to show her blush, and looked out the window.
"So… Did you two have fun?" Adrien asked quietly, making Nathalie turn a deeper pink.
Gabriel cleared his throat "um yes, it was peaceful yesterday night." he tried changing the subject " so how's your friend?"
Adrien nodded. "Nino's fine."
Nathalie looked away from the window for a moment.
"Good to hear." they rode in silence until they reached the house. "I'll be in the study." He walked briskly to the room, needing to do some research
Adrien sighed and went up to his room.
Nathalie followed Gabriel so that she could shut the doors behind him and wait outside to make sure no one got in.
He massaged his head, throwing his classes on his desk and sighed. He pulled his computer to him and started typing furiously, trying to find anything on threats and gangs or suspicious people in paris
Nathalie heard typing and closed her eyes. Please don't be trying to figure out what I said…
He would find them and make them pay "I'm going out" he called as he grabbed his keys
Nathalie followed him. "I'll come with you," she said, matching his pace within the first couple of her strides.
He said nothing to her as they got in the car, just nodded and looked at his phone before driving to the abandoned building
Nathalie's heart dropped. "Mr. Agreste?" she asked quietly. "Why are we here?"
He continued to stay quiet, waiting. A figure came out of the building
"Gabriel, what are you doing? We should leave!" Nathalie urged.
He shook his head "we're not going anywhere." The man who came out of shade. It was the same one who Gabriel threatened at the party."whatever you see or hear do not come after me. Lock the door and keep it locked."he got out of the car and went up to the man
Nathalie's eyes widened. She didn't listen and got out of the car as well. "Gabriel, don't do this!" she pleaded.
"stay in the car." He said over his shoulder, ignoring her plea. He rolled up his sleeves and looked at the man "I told you to leave her alone, I told you the next time I saw that you threatened her, that I you would regret it, and do you listen? No." He said with a smile
"Gabriel, stop!" Nathalie begged, her heart sinking. What've I done…
He ignores her pleas once again and lunged at the man, knocking them both to the ground in a mess of white and black "how dare you threaten her life?!"
