She took a deep breath and began to work, the fabric flowing easily in her hands.

he watched her as she worked, watched as her hands flew expertly over the fabric and pins. watched as she glided over to the mannequin and danced around it, putting pins in and sewing up seams smiling proudly he sat atop his desk. "you should have told me that you loved to design earlier. You work magnificently and so cleanly, heck you could throw me out of business if you continue like this"
Nathalie blushed. She didn't want to tell him that she had applied to be a designer, but had never heard back. "I wouldn't want to do that," she said, which came out slightly muffled considering she had some pins in between her lips.
"maybe not now but you could." he saw as she made expert choices when the piece started coming together "how long have you've been practicing like this?"
"Several…" She paused to focus on a slightly difficult part. "Years."

He looked down In shame losing his smile "I'm sorry I never took notice of your natural affinity. I would've immediately hired you as a designer instead of a secretary."
“I don’t mind it so much,” she replied, accidentally pricking herself. She made a small noise, but other than that showed no sign of her momentary pain.
He grabbed a band aid of the table and handed it to her, see as she pricked herself "yes but you'd rather have been doing this than being a secretary, am I wrong?"
She looked surprised, but accepted the Band-Aid and replied, “Well… I don’t know. I like what I do.”
He nodded, thinking over her words "but if you had a chance at doing what you love instead of something you like, which would you choose?"
She finished a row and put her hands on her hips to look at him. “Stop. I’m happy where I am, okay?”
He shoved off the table and stood before her "but you could be happier, and I feel like I'm getting the way of that, which I don't want to do."
“You’re not,” she insisted, turning her back to him to work on the dress. She was nearly finished.
Running a hand through his fair hair, he fell into silence once again as he watched Natalie work
She pricked herself only once more, but other than that, she finished without trouble. She compared it to her design. It looked better than she ever imagined.
Gabriel looked over her shoulder and smiled. The drawing looked like a simplistic drawing compared to the final product "it beautiful, love"
She turned to face him. “Love?” she asked skeptically.
He looked down at her with his eyes "what? Don't like it? Fine. My dear. Better?"
"No, I… I like it," she admitted. It hit her so suddenly, she almost didn't register it.
“Hello, my dear. A dance?”
She gasped and went under again briefly.
“I never ask for anything twice, my dear."
Suddenly, her wrist throbbed and her ear tickled. She grabbed her wrist and pulled it into her chest as a new wave of pain crashed over her, making her wince.
