That gave him incentive to run faster, though he was beginning to tire. Alright, last chance….. he thought.
That gave him incentive to run faster, though he was beginning to tire. Alright, last chance….. he thought.
The dragonling leaped at him again, nearly catching Skye's paw in its jaws.
Skye yelped, taking one last bound, and suddenly vainshing, ending up in a tree in human form, forcing himself not to gasp for breath even though his lungs were burning.
The dragonling skidded to a halt, waving its head from side to side. Arie looked for Skye.
Skye forced himself to stay very still, and breath slow shallow breaths, despite how much his lungs needed air.
When Arie didn't spot him on the ground, she started scanning the trees.
Skye had his hood up, and was staying very still, his eyes shut tight as the other scann for him.
Arie slowly worked her way from one tree to the next.
Skye continued to stay stock still, knowing it was his only chance.
Arie was near to Skye's tree; she was trying to hear his breathing.
Skye held his breath, as much as possible, brething very slowly, and very quietly.
Arie was at Skye's tree. Her eyes darted up, trying to see anything out of the ordinary.
Skye felt eyes on him, but he didn't dare move, he continued breathing the same way as before, his lungs achong for more air as his heart pounded in his chest.
Arie glared at Skye. She had spotted him. She pondered, for a moment, then moved on.
Skye kept to his tactics, though his telepathy told him he'd been found.
Arie quietly slipped off of the dragonling. It had given up searching and had laid down to take a nap. Arie, knowing there was no way she could wake it up, let out a sharp whistle.
Skye suddenly employed his true tactics, revealing dozens of copies of himself throughout the the forest around him. He was focused on tricking Arie's senses into thinking that each clone was breathing, and smelled like him. He suddenly bloted, shifting to wolf form, along with half the copies, who all started moving.
Arie rolled her eyes. A rumbling noise could be heard from the distance and was getting closer.
"Hear comes Darling."
And who might Darling be? asked Skye, making sure it sounded like it came from all over, keeping his illusions moving as lifelike as possible, still manipulating Arie's perceptions.
"My… pet." Arie smiled. The rumbling sounded all around.
Skye ran faster, causing the clones to dash off in all directions.
Arie laughed maniacally as the rumbling reached a crescendo. A large shape was running through the trees.
Skye kept running, each clone going in a single direction.
Suddenly, a giant Chupacabra was nuzzling Arie. She scratched her nose.
(What's a chupacabra?)
Skye heard the bounding stop, and ran faster.
