Darling slowly swung her head into Arie's lap. There, Arie played with the little hair that remained on Darling's head.
Darling slowly swung her head into Arie's lap. There, Arie played with the little hair that remained on Darling's head.
Skye watched carefully, saying something else to the dog in that same language.
Darling slowly licked Arie's skirt. Arie looked at Skye.
"What are you saying??"
"Telling your friend not to hurt me." he said, "She'll listen to me over you…"
Arie rolled her eyes.
"She wouldn't have anyway."
"And also not to chase me." he said. "Heck i could ask her to attack you.."
Arie glared at Skye.
"You think I don't have measures in place to prevent that?"
"Nothing beats an Alpha's command." said Skye smugly. "Nothing."
Arie smirked.
"You ain't the only being who got an amulet tied to them."
"Maybe." said Skye, "But still."
Arie rolled her eyes.
"Now, imagine that I had taken her soul and put it into said amulet, and to deny me is literal death."
Skye nodded smugly, "right….. so she's a slave and not a pet?"
"Yes and no." Arie stroked Darling again.
Skye sighed. "If she has no free will than shes a slave."
"No, she has free will. She could choose to not do what I ask."
"But then you'd kill her…" he said. "That's not free will."
Arie rolled her eyes.
"Is she dead yet? She's just like any other pet; she listens when she wants to."
Skye growled, but said nothing more.
"I'm not a total monster." Arie meant her words; even she still had a shred of her past humanity left.
"Yeah right." said Skye, totally not believing her.
Arie didn't respond. She wasn't, right? Sometimes even she had a hard time believing that.
Skye watched her, saying nothing.
Arie looked up.
"I never did get your name, wolf."
"Skye Wolfheart…" he said.`
Arie nodded, staying silent.
