“Ah, I see. Well, I hope this’ll wake you up, then,” Devon said softly.
“Ah, I see. Well, I hope this’ll wake you up, then,” Devon said softly.
His excuse had only been a partial lie, it had not only been Ella who had kept him up, but dreams and nightmares as well. “Thanks,” he answered quietly, offering a small smile.
“Sure…” Devon said with a small nod. “Your coffee will come out at the other counter. I’ll grab the scone for you.”
“Thanks.” He nodded and walked over to where she’d directed him, rubbing his eyes.
(Should we skip again?)
Sure, to when? Not it)
(Lol. I let you have it this time. 😂
Um… Another play date? A few days/weeks later?)
(Lol
Play date sounds good, maybe two weeks later?)
(Sure. Just skipping to Devon’s place or the daycare when they plan it?)
Up to you, I’m cool with both)
(Mkay. Devon’s place it is, then.)
Devon was picking up the last few things from around the living room as she waited for Sebastian to arrive with Ella. They had planned another play date for the girls, since the two seemed practically inseparable. He had told her that he would come to her apartment again, and she wanted it to look neat because… Well, because she hated having a messy home when she had a guest. Not that she really had many guests…
Sebastian arrived at Devon’s front door, rubbing his weary eyes. He knocked twice and pulled back, bouncing Layla up and down.
(Wrong kid. Lol.)
Devon glanced at the door when there was a knock, and she finished putting everything away before walking over. She opened the door with a small smile and stepped over so Sebastian could come inside.
“Hi, Sebastian. Hi, Ella,” she greeted them, smiling down at the little girl. “You guys can come on in. Layla’s in the living room with her toys.”
(Whoops! Sorry)
“Hey,” he greeted, taking a hesitant step into her apartment. Ella babbled happily, a drop of drool trickingfiwn her chin. Sebastian hurried to mop it up with a napkin and set her down. “How’re you?”
(Lol. Dw about it.)
"Pretty good. What about yourself?" Devon asked, closing the door behind her guests.
Layla toddled over from the other room and ran up to Sebastian, grinning up at the pair. "Ella! Bahstin!"
Sebastian was surprised to find that his heart nearly melted at the sight of the other little girl. Ella ran right up to her and gave her a huge, sweet hug.
“I’m pretty good, yeah.”
"That's good… I'm glad you're doing well," Devon said with a nod. She smiled softly as the two girls embraced until Layla pulled away and began to tug the younger girl away. The young mother chuckled as she watched them walk away, then turned to Sebastian again. "Can I get you something? Water? Tea? Coffee?"
“Some water would be nice,” Sebastian answered tentatively, ducking his head. “If that’s alright.”
Devon nodded and started toward the kitchen. “That’s fine… Do you maybe want to play another game as the girls play?”
“Sure,” he agreed, following after and slipping his hands into his pockets.
"Okay. Should we play Monopoly again? Or would you maybe like to play Clue?" Devon suggested as she grabbed a couple of classes from the cupboard, filled one with water and then the other with apple juice she pulled from the fridge.
(Should we skip or stay?)
(Skip, probably. To after the play date or a few days later? Maybe Devon get flirted with again?
not it)
(Oof fine
A few days later sounds good
Where would they be?)
(Hm… Maybe she’s walking out of work as Seb is walking in?)
