The Werynose screeched up at him. Insanity seized the chance and ripped off the little guy, glaring at it.
βYou think youβre so smart. Curl back up. Iβm sorry I happened to have my hand in my pocket!β He exclaimed as he plopped the animal back casually into his pocket. Huffing and wiping his lightly bleeding hands on his messy, worn, v-neck shirt, he continued walking along the alley, looking for the familiar entrance of his laboratory.
Dhiscord caught herself before she snickered. She noticed how the crowd was thinning as she followed him. Apparently he wasn't going to a normal house or there'd be more civilians. She smiled as she noticed his gaze. They were close.. Dhiscord could hardly contain her giddiness as she kept her distance.
He noticed someone in the corner of his eye as he turned his head, shifting his shoulders up and yawning. He wondered if he should lead this unsuspecting soul into his lab. No, then heβd just get yelled at by Life. βYou can't steal a mortal from their realm, Insanity!β
Insanity rolled his eyes at the nagging Life in his head. He turned a sharp right and a few feet forward before climbing over a low fence.
Dhiscord waited a few seconds before following the man. She wasn't sure if he'd figured she'd been following him, but he did see her. She launched herself, landing in a silent crouch on the other side. Her eyes on her prey, she followed once more.
Insanity heard the crunch of loose pavement under his stalkerβs feet, deciding they were following him. He smirked to himself and turned towards a dumpster, kicking it with his bare foot. The noise echoed and a clunk noise came from the ground next to it. He turned away from Dhiscord again to face a flight of steps leading infinitely downwards. He plodded down them happily, leaving the opening for her, if she wanted to investigate.
Dhiscord trailed towards the door but didn't enter. He'd been oh-too willing to let her in. It could be a trap, or he could be overly confident in her her intentions if he'd come up with some assumption. That was the thing about smart prey and dumb prey, when it came to times like these, you tell the difference. Dhiscord took a hesitant step and then another, removing her hands from her pockets once more, just in caseβ¦
Insanity rubbed the bridge of his nose as he walked through his dark lab halls. Heβd have to turn on the lights and find Cupid later. First he had to make his stalker lost and confront them. Which was never fun for Insanity. He leaned against the wall next to the first room, keeping an eye on the entrance of his lab, watching her shadow over it.
As Dhiscord descended the steps, a smile played on her deep wine colored lips. Within the dark halls, the glow of her red eyes could be seen, and from her vantage point, Insanity could be seen as well. She looked in his direction. "Hello~" she cooed.
Insanity watched her with an oddly blank expression, his deep eyes following her every move. He didnβt stir off the wall when she turned to look at him, only leaned his weight on his other foot nonchalantly.
βHi there. Youβre quite the foolish Demoness, arenβt you?β
Dhiscord laughed. "I wouldn't consider myself foolish. Hungryβ¦.now that I am." She smiled, revealing her sharp canines. She crossed her arms. "What did your mother tell you about strangers?"
βMy mother told me confidently that I can take care of myself just fine.β He waved his hand and the opening slid shut, plunging the area in darkness.
βAnd hungry you may be, youβre certainly a fool,β His raspy voice spoke from the dark, the sound of his labcoat shifting as he leaned off of the wall.
With a shrugged, Dhiscord set her chains to jingling. "Be that as I mayβ¦. you do look tasty." Once the darkness set over them, she rolled her shoulders and stepped towards him.
Insanity chuckled and rolled his eyes, moving to step away. He rose a foot to walk, and that foot sent a bottle of alcohol rolling away across the floor.
βI may look tasty, but I doubt youβd be able to lay a finger on my Soul.β He chuckled and started to walk away, his footsteps echoing.
"Oh, don't run away." She pouted. "At least tell me what type of blood I'll be drinking? I've had a craving for demigod for a while nowβ¦." She followed after him, following the sound of his footsteps.
βIβm not running away. I am merely protecting you.β He smiled, laughing into the empty, dark air of his lab.
βDemi-God? You think I am a Demi-God? Even if I were, youβd get no where near me. Do you even know where you are?β
"I've eaten Demi-God's before, you know, you wouldn't be the first or the last. They're not impossible to catch, a little tough though. Trust me though, I'm ready for some real excitement." Dhiscord dragged her nails along the wall as she stalked closer. "But enlighten me⦠If you're not a Demi-God, than what are you?"
βYou didnβt answer my question,β Insanity pointed out, humming as he turned another sharp corner, turning to look down the hall at her. His eyes were sparkling mysteriously. Sheβd make a fine specimen in his hall.
"I don't think it matters." She replied with a shrug. "I'm not here to take a tour. I'm just here for a quick meal." Dhiscord's eye flitted about the room. He kept leading her away from the exit. She frowned and stopped in her tracks. This is my cat and mouse chaseβ¦she thought with a growl.
βI think it does matter,β His voice purred softly from behind her. He pushed her forward and onto the ground, the brute force of his push sending a rush of adrenaline through his body.
Surprise jolted her and she rolled twice before gaining her footing once more, rising into a crouch as she watched him. "How rude." she bared her teeth at him.
βWhatβs rude is that you havenβt done your research on this area.β He wrinkled his nose at her. βIf you think youβre getting a meal from me, youβre sorely misinformed. The only thing youβll get a meal from is a human if youβre lucky.β
Dhiscord rolled her eyes. "So what are you? Some ancient prophet collected young people down here. Oh," she giggled in mockery. "Perhaps you're a God."
Insanity shook out his hair and lifted his arm in a snap, raising her up with his Magic. The Magic around her was quiet and powerful.
βI actually am a God. Thank you very much.β
Surprise only flickered across her gaze for a moment and then it was gone. "Oh, I seeβ¦" She smirked. "That's quite interesting, I've never been in the presence of a God before, forgive if I don't know how to act." Her words were sarcastic in every way. She was defiant to the end, and something told her that might be closer than she thought. SHe couldn't beat a God and make it out alive.
Insanity waved his arms elegantly, which sent her launching down the dark hall. Heβd rather her see her starve then be forced to induct experiments on her. However, as soon as he launched her, he followed her path.
