Mβs arms flew to his sides and he leaned forward towards Jericho like a cobra ready to strike.
βStop feeling all misunderstood Jericho. I know what goes on in your mind. You deined a Goddess. Do you know what that even means? Sheβs going to come to me and try and get you to lose your job. Sheβs going to say a ton of shit about you because of this. And hey, keep your fucking voice down or I actually will fire you! Youβre the one who came up to my house and acted like what you did was right, when it wasnβt. Iβve known those asshole-Gods for over two-thousand years! You canβt canβt tell me whatβs right and what isnβt.β
Jericho stood toe to toe with M, not backing down for a second. "I'm not a piece of meat you get to throw to whatever God wants to bed me! I'm your friend, but I guess that's not important now. Let her take my job. Whatever! Let her talk! I don't really care. I will not be manipulated, M. So screw you." Jericho turned on a heel and began to storm out of the house. He'd had enough.
M threw out his hand the moment Jericho went to go walk away and the door flew shut. He looked angry, his eyes chips of angry ice.
βI will not be talked to like this in my house. I did not say I was going to fire you. But it's obvious that youβre testing my patience.β His hands tightened into fists at his sides. βHowever much you might think Iβm your friend, I will not be disrespected, belittled and expected to return the gesture.β
Jericho sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yea well, shit, M. I'm sorry for yelling at you in your damn house, but nothing else. I stand by what I said. If you want respect from me you have to respect my decisions about my life. I don't need help with women!" He crossed his arms, standing defiantly. "I certainly don't need to be offered up to a Goddess." He muttered, more to himself than to M.
M sneered at him just a tad. βI do respect your life. I just think it wasβ¦ unwise to just leave a Goddess on her own. You couldβve at least exchanged phone numbers. However, since you have this all figured out, go.β His hand flew up and the door slammed open, the doorknob going through the wall. M knew how to disguise the anger on his face, but never in his magic.
(And somehow Alison manages to sleep through all of thisβ¦)
(I was just thinking that, lmao. I was actually about to ask if you wanted her to be awake when he went back upstairs.)
(I'd be good with that. Lol.)
Jericho glared at M. He could not believe this was happening. He thought his days of getting into trouble were long, long past him. "She didn't exactly give me that option, Boss." He snapped over his shoulder as he stormed out. "It was more of a 'join me or die' kind of thing." He slammed the door behind him, stomping down the street towards his apartment.
M shook his head angrily, ignoring Jericho and turning his back on the door. He growled curse words in his native tongue to nothing in particular, squeezing his hands tighter into fists. His magic puffed out his hair as it did when he was irritated or agitated, which prompted him to unclench his fists and scratch his nails through his fluffy black curls. He did that for a bit, for so long it hurt.
Jericho muttered to himself as he continued walking. He couldn't believe the outrageous events of the past evening and yet if he were being honest to himself he has somewhat enjoyed it. Scowling, Jericho unlocked his apartment and ducked inside, ready for a heavy drink.
M gave a quick couple tugs to his hair to calm himself down a bit more, then smoothed out his ruffled, somewhat dry hair. He exhaled slowly as he ran his nails through his tangles and knots, making his way back upstairs.
(Autumn did you wanna respond?)
(Oh, sure! I wasnβt sure if I could yet. Lol.)
Alison was already awake when M came up. She sat in the middle of the bed, her legs crossed and hands holding onto them as she watched the door.
βWhat was that about?β she asked softly as M stepped into the room.
(Lol. The door is wide open!)
M was still running his nibbled-on nails through his hair as he eased across the room and shut the door.
βNothing,β He mumbled, his voice aching from yelling so loud.
(Then sheβs looking out the door! Lol. Geez.)
βIt obviously wasnβt nothing. But itβs fine if you donβt want to talk about it,β Alison said with a shrug.
M sighed as he sat on the bed at her side, rubbing his neck. He could tell she wanted him to tell her from her thoughts, but he felt very opposed to doing so. He had acted like a child.
βWhatever happened, itβll be okay,β Alison assured him, settling a gentle hand on his knee.
M sighed softly and shut his eyes. βHopefully. Itβll make my job much harder. Iβll probably end up firing him.β
Alison frowned a little and moved her hand to cup his cheek. βMaybe you should talk to him about it before then. Sometime when youβre not so tiredβ¦ And maybe I could be there to help?β she suggested softly. If she was there, maybe things would go a bit more smoothly.
(Eheheheeheheheehehe)
M shook his head immediately. βNo. I donβt want you there. Something could happen and you might get hurt.β He curled his legs up in a squished version of criss-cross applesauce, sighing.
βIβll talk to him, but it wonβt go well.β
"Well⦠If you're sure," Alison sighed. She yawned and scooted back on the bed. "I hope you two can sort things out. I don't want your relationship to be strained."
(smacks lips together Mkay Lotus do you wanna do anything?)
((Sure! Wanna continue or can I use a character who interacts with the Gods? Or do you wanna do some Eve and Neo?))
(Oh you may absolutely do that. Gods also count the Demis so you might be seeing little peeps of M and Neo too. But yes! You may introduce a character to interact with the Gods. Why?)
