He groaned, and played a number card. "I don't have a better suggestion, plus the agreement was that you would pick."
He groaned, and played a number card. "I don't have a better suggestion, plus the agreement was that you would pick."
She giggled and took the cards, playing a three this time. "Are you starting to get the hang of the game then?" she asked.
"Sort of." He replied a bit grumpily as he played a four.
"I told you that you would!" she responded with a smile. She played another three and glanced at Logan to see if he would notice the sandwich.
Logan frowned slightly, and hesitantly slapped it. "Is that right?" He asked, raising his eyebrows at her.
She nodded. "Yep! That was a sandwich." She was glad that Logan had slapped it instead of just playing a card over it obliviously.
Logan took the deck carefully, and played another card. Just a normal card.
Allie played another number card on top of it. "Isn't it fun? It's fun once you know what you're doing."
He shrugged slightly. "Yeah, that's true." He replied.
Allie grinned. "See?" She blew a curl out of her face. Her hair was being annoying.
Logan sighed. "Yeah, i guess." He replied slowly.
Allie heard a loud crash not too far from the house. Her eyes widened as she looked back at Logan. "What was that?" she asked, a bit nervous.
Logan stood up, grabbing his pistol. "I don't know. I'll check." He replied, walking to the door and opening it carefully.
Allie got her gun and followed him. Despite her anxiety, she hated being treated as a damsel in distress. “What is it?”
He frowned slightly, going outside. "I'm not sure." He replied slowly, looking around cautiously.
Her heartbeat quickened. “Do you think it could be aliens?” she whispered, trying to act tougher than she felt.
"I… don't know." He admitted, looking around carefully.
Allie looked around slowly, creeping out behind Logan and going towards where she thought she had heard the noise. A flash of something gray caught her eye. “Did you see that?” she muttered, glancing at Logan.
Logan followed towards the sound. He shook his head. "No. I didn't." He replied slowly.
“I think I saw something,” she said, moving toward it. She heard a twig crack. “Someone’s here.”
He frowned, and got in front of her. "Stay behind me." He told her, heading towards the sound.
Allie frowned. “Logan I can take of myself,” she said, holding up her own pistol and following him.
Logan sighed. "I know." He replied, and kepy moving. Kept looking to see what was there.
A shot rang out. “Don’t come any closer,” remarked a familiar voice. A girl’s voice. Allie froze and glanced at Logan.
Logan stopped, narrowing his eyes. "Who's there?" He called, keeping his pistol up and ready.
