Allie laughed, her whole face going red. “Not physical violence, stupid!” she trilled between laughs. “You slap the cards!”
Allie laughed, her whole face going red. “Not physical violence, stupid!” she trilled between laughs. “You slap the cards!”
Logan made a face. "Oh. But why? What's the point of slapping them?" He asked. "That… doesn't make sense!" He seemed to be very vocal about what he did and didn't think was logical.
She giggled, coming out of her laughing fit. “There’s rules, you don’t just slap them randomly,” she replied, slightly out of breath. “It has to be two of the same number or face in a row, or a sandwich, which is the same thing but with a different card in the middle. I’ll let you know when one comes up.”
He shook his head slowly. "That's…a lot of weird rules…" He replied slowly, frowning a little. "But why are we slapping them?"
“Because whoever slaps the cards first gets the deck,” Allie explained. “But if you slap it and you’re wrong, you have to put the three cards at the top of your deck on the bottom of the center one.” She gestured to explain her point.
"Oh." He replied slowly. "I see. I think I get it?" He still looked mildly confused, his eyebrows knotted together.
Allie smiled at his expression. “I’ll help you figure it out,” she promised. “Now your turn to play a card.”
Logan sighed. He played a card, making a face.
Allie played a king with a satisfied smile. “Ideally you play cards really quickly, but it’s easier to start off slow and gradually speed up,” she added.
He nodded, and played a number card. Then another. Then, finally, a jack.
Allie played a jack as well and slapped the deck. “That is doubles.” She slid it towards her with a smirk, then played another card.
He groaned softly, and played a card. "This game makes no sense." He grumbled.
Allie giggled. “You’ll get the hang of it eventually.” She played a two.
He sighed, and played another card. "Alright, fine. If you say so." He replied.
She slapped the deck with glee. “Sandwich!” she crowed, glancing at Logan. “That means there’s two of the same card with a different one between them.”
Logan groaned. "Ughhhhh." He replied slowly, looking at her. "I don't like this game." He grumbled. "The rules are weird."
Allie grinned wickedly and took the cards. “If you hate it so much, suggest something better,” she retorted, taking the deck and playing a new card.
He groaned. "Gahhhh." He threw down a new card, making a face at her.
Allie made a face back and laughed. She played an ace with a smirk.
He groaned. "What does an ace mean, again?" He asked, looking at her with a long-suffering expression.
For a moment she was caught off guard, her heartbeat stopped as she looked at him before she regained her wits again shortly. “Four tries,” she said, looking back at the cards.
He sighed, and put down two number cards, then a jack. "There." He said grumpily, looking at her.
Allie laughed. "You really don't like this game," she observed, playing a king with a smirk.
He groaned. "No, I do not." He replied, tossing down three number cards in quick succession.
She laughed and snatched up the deck. "I told you, we can play something else if you have a suggestion." She set down a jack right off the bat.
