By the time students began to arrive at school, I was out on the field, looking better than I had all week. There were still prominent dark circles beneath my eyes, and I was wearing the same clothes as yesterday, but my hair was combed and the numb expression had been wiped from my face. I looked no differed than the average high school student.
Marina ran right up to me the moment we caught sight of each other, worriedly looking me up and down. “My dad heard—Did Angelo kick you out??”
“So do you ignore everyone’s texts, or just mine?” Mercutio leaned against my locker lazily, a slight tone of hostility in his voice.
“Can we not do this now?” I shot back, nudging him aside and putting in my combination. “I’m just tired lately.”
“Yeah. I’m fine though,” I hurried to explain, “I slept on a park bench. I actually haven’t felt better in a while…..”
Marina frowned.
“Tired, yeah, I bet. From what? Pining?” Mercutio refused to let this go, much to my annoyance.
“I’m not doing this right now.” I deadpanned, putting my bag away. “We can talk later.”
The boys soon joined us, but luckily for me, Joe was the only one who had heard the news about Angelo kicking me out.
Everyone, including me, was pleased to see that I seemed to be functioning again. My fire hadn’t quite returned, but I had enough energy to fake it despite the fact that I’d barely slept.
Mercutio and I continued our mild bickering for awhile as I gathered my books. “You’re annoying as all hell, you know that?” Mercutio sighed.
“Yeah, figures that out.” I replied dryly. The two of us seemed to have reached a peace for the moment as we waited for the bell.
(Yeah, what class should they have?)

Should he catch Romeo or Juliet doing something? Or should he just be the one to tell Romeo’s parents? Maybe Romeo gets pulled out of class?))

Okay so maybe they’re in separate classes at the time, and Juliet is on her way to the bathroom or something and walks past the main office where she sees Rafael and Maria lecturing Romeo?))
