As quiet as Alex was, the occasional clinks and clangs still woke up Danny rather effectively. He sat up, tugging the blankets off of himself and beginning to fold them up.
As quiet as Alex was, the occasional clinks and clangs still woke up Danny rather effectively. He sat up, tugging the blankets off of himself and beginning to fold them up.
Alex looked over when he heard movement. "Do you want some eggs?" He asked, raising his eyebrows a little bit.
“Huh?” Danny took a second to register the question. “Oh- fuck yeah, if you’re offerin’, then I’ll take some.”
Alex nodded, and added some more eggs to the ones already on the griddle. "Alright." He replied, working on the eggs.
“Thanks, brother. And uh- thanks again for lettin’ me crash here last night.” Danny shoved his hands into his pockets, rocking on his heels.
"Of course. And that's not a problem, don't worry about it." Alex replied, still working on the eggs. The griddle hissed as it cooked them, the familiar popping and hissing sounds of cooking filling the room.
Danny nodded. The ice pack he had been using was now thawed, effectively useless. He popped it back into the freezer and sat down.
Alex kept working. Eventually, the eggs were done, and he served them up into two plates. He set one in front of Danny. "Do you want anything with your food?"
(probably gtg soon)
(i get that, gn!)
“Nah, nah, man, I’m fine! Thanks, though.” Danny gave Alex a thumbs up, grabbing his fork and digging in the second he saw Alex take his own hite.
Alex nodded a little bit, adding salt, pepper, and cheese to his own before sitting down to eat. "You're welcome." he replied.
Danny polished off his food remarkably quickly. Clearly that werewolf appetite hadn’t left him. He set his fork down, taking a second to rub the leftover bleariness from his eyes and listen to the area surrounding him. The noise from the streets, mostly, but the hum of the appliances in the apartment created a white noise as well.
Alex stretched, letting out a slow breath. "I think I slept wrong. My bones ache." he said with a faint laugh, shaking his head a little bit. "Which makes me sound so fucking old, my god."
“Yeah? Fuck. What is it, your neck or somethin’?” Danny tilted his head slightly. “And yeah, it does, man. Fuckin’ gramps over here.”
"Eh. My neck and upper back. I think I like…twisted around weird or something, that's all." he rubbed the back of his neck, stretching.
Danny nodded, thinking for a moment. “I think you’re supposed to use ice, yeah?” He couldn’t remember if that was the correct thing or not, but it was worth a shot.
He thought for a moment. "I mean, I may as well try it." he replied. He got up, grabbing an ice pack and pressing it to the sore spot.
“Yeah. What’s the worst that could happen, I mean?” Danny shrugged, his eyes tracking Alex as he got up. “Lemme know if it works, though, ‘cause I constantly got neck pain.”
Alex nodded a little, sitting down again and letting out a soft groan.
Danny picked absently at the scab forming on his lip, humming softly to himself.
Alex kept pressing the ice to the sore spots, rolling it around a little bit to try and alleviate the soreness.
Danny checked the time. He had to get back before 10 to take care of the youngest pack members, as usual. 8:30. Early.
Alex let out a breath, leaning back in his seat. "Don't get in another fight, Danny. I won't be there to drag you out of it."
“I didn’t expect you to drag me outta it in the first place.” Danny crossed his arms loosely over his chest. “I was just off my game, dude. I can usually hold my own.”
He ran a hand over his face. "I don't wanna have to visit you in jail." he grumbled. "That'd be fun to explain to my dad. "Yeah, dad, while you're in the hospital, I made friends with a werewolf who got his ass thrown in jail"." he was talking to himself at this point, shaking his head.
“I won’t go to jail if it’s self defense.” Danny mumbled. He knew it wasn’t true, but it was something he liked to tell himself. His head tilted and leaned forward slightly at Alex’s last comment. “Sorry, what was that?” The fact that Alex had specifically pointed out that Danny was a werewolf rubbed him the wrong way. Maybe he was just testy, because he sorta got why, it just.. felt off.
