“Thanks, brother.” Danny stretched again, crossing his legs. “Thanks again for lettin’ me crash here.”
“Thanks, brother.” Danny stretched again, crossing his legs. “Thanks again for lettin’ me crash here.”
"Yeah, no problem." Alex replied, finishing up his water and getting up to put it in the kitchen. "You're free to use the bathroom or kitchen or whatever if you need."
“Sure thing, sure thing.” Danny nodded, rolling his shoulders. He rubbed his non-bruised eye. “I’m not tryna be rude, but I might fall asleep pretty soon.”
"That's fine, I was actually planning on heading to bed soon." he replied with a soft laugh. "Do you want any water before I head to my room?"
“Uh- nah, man, I’m okay. Thanks though.” He nodded, a grateful smile on his face.
"Alright, no problem." he headed for his room. "Good night."
“G’night!” Danny called in response, settling down on the couch. He wrapped the blankets around himself, trying to sleep despite the dull pains.
Alex closed the door to his room, changing into his pajamas and crawling into bed.
Danny fell asleep, blocking any residual light with his arm. He snored softly, shallowly, his chest rising and falling in a steady motion.
(Gtg soon probably, sorry)
Alex took a deep breath, and eventually fell asleep, curled up beneath his blankets.
(gn in advance!)
(also, TS to morning unless you have ideas?)
(I have no ideas, unless Alex had a nightmare and woke Danny up?? idk)
(That’ll work!)
(alright! Want me to do that, then?)
(Yes please!)
(kk)
Alex was thrashing. Low, quiet noises left his throat, his limbs tangled up in the blankets. He was having another nightmare, some twisted thing of Keats in his head.
Danny might’ve been stretching the truth a little when he said he was a heavy sleeper. Okay, a lot. The noises jolted him awake, his head swiveling in the direction of Alex’s room. He sounded like he was having a nightmare, just like said. The question, though, was whether or not it would be better to leave him alone or knock on his door to see if he could calm Alex down a little.
Alex was tossing, rolling around a little bit, faint whimpers escaping his mouth. His hands fisted in the blankets, and he was shaking.
Danny finally decided to bite the bullet and check on him. He knocked on Alex’s door, lightly at first, trying to see just how asleep he was. “Alex? You okay, brother?”
Alex didn't wake up, still squirming and letting out faint gasping sounds, starting to cry quietly.
Danny knocked a little louder this time, knowing full well how bad of an idea it would be if he just showed up in Alex’s room while he was having a nasty dream.
Alex jolted awake with a ragged sound, sitting up, trembling and looking around the room for a long moment before realizing he was safe.
Danny knocked softly again. “You alright in there?” His voice was soft, but audible enough from Alex’s side of the door.
Alex took a deep breath, letting it out again slowly. "I…" he didn't quite know how to respond. No, he wasn't "alright", but he didn't know…he knew he should just respond with yes and let Danny go back to sleep.
“That sounds like a no, brother.” Danny stretched. He only kind of sounded tired. Chances were, Danny could just tell Alex he couldn’t sleep and that’s why he heard the noises of his nightmare.
