"It's alright." he said, putting the salve away. "Who was it?" he asked, curious. He ran a hand through his hair. His eyes were still red from crying, but he seemed better now than earlier.
"It's alright." he said, putting the salve away. "Who was it?" he asked, curious. He ran a hand through his hair. His eyes were still red from crying, but he seemed better now than earlier.
Danny shrugged, shaking his head. “Just Fraser. Wanted to know where I was, is all.” He tipped his head in the direction of the salve. “‘T’s that for?”
He nodded a little bit. "Ah. That's for the bruising. I've…used it before, and it helps with the healing process." he replied softly. His words brought to mind the fact that he had been through this many times before, and had probably spent too many mornings waking up alone and hurting.
“Oh. Least you got something that can help it all heal up, that’s good.” Danny stashed his phone into his back pocket again, not thinking much about the implications of Alex’s words.
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah." He bit his lip, running a hand through his hair a little anxiously.
“You look freaked, man. What’s up?” Danny looked at Alex, head cocked. “‘Cause somethin’ is.”
"Nothing. Sorry. Just thinking." He replied softly, dropping his hands back down to his lap.
Danny frowned. “I smell bullshit, man. Somethin’s up.”
He shook his head. "Sorry. I'm fine. Just…memories. It's fine."
“Doesn’t sound fine.” Danny drummed his fingers on his lower lip. “But I’m not gonna force it.”
He shrugged again, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. "Alright. Thanks."
Danny shifted on the bed, moving a little so that he wasn’t so far on the edge.
He looked over at Danny, taking a deep breath. "I uhm…should probably shower." He said slowly. "So…while I do that…you can eat or whatever, I guess."
“Oh- yeah, man, sure. You go do that. I ate last night, so I’ll be fine, but thanks!” Danny gave him a thumbs up and a quick smile. “I’m probably gonna go sit in the kitchen or somethin’, though.”
He nodded a little, getting up from the bed. "Alright. If you do get hungry, though, you're welcome to anything in the kitchen."
“Thanks, man, thanks.” Danny stood up as well, cracking his neck and walking into the kitchen area. He just stood around on his phone for a while, just killing time.
He nodded. He grabbed a towel and headed into the bathroom, getting ready for his shower.
He scrounged around for cups and got water, but he didn’t do much else. After all, it felt odd to Danny for him to be eating food from somebody else’s fridge, especially if he didn’t buy it or chip in.
Alex took a shower, scrubbing at his body so hard that his skin turned red, desperate to get the ghosts of Keats' touches from his body.
Danny walked circles in the kitchen, taking a sip from his cup every so often, still killing time on his phone. He checked the time. Danny’s eyes wandered out the window, his attention grabbed by a dead bird crumpled on the concrete below.
Alex eventually finished his shower, getting dressed and coming back out. He took a deep breath.
Danny’s head snapped up at the sound of the door opening. “Oh, hey.”
Alex gave a faint smile. His hair was dripping wet still. "Hi."
“..I found the cups.” Danny help up his cup, which was now sufficiently drained of all water.
He chuckled a little, and nodded. "Yeah, I can see that." He got out a glass for himself, and took a sip of water.
