Danny put his phone away, refilling his own water. “I don’t think I drink enough water.” He mused, swirling his cup.
Danny put his phone away, refilling his own water. “I don’t think I drink enough water.” He mused, swirling his cup.
Alex shrugged. "Maybe not." He replied. He took a sip of water, running a hand through his hair.
“..So. How are you feeling?” Danny gestured vaguely to Alex.
Alex shrugged again. "I…better. I guess." He replied softly.
“That’s good.” Danny nodded, shifting his weight from foot to foot.
He glanced at his arms, remembering the way his nails had scored down the skin as he tried to erase the feeling of Keats' hands on his body. "…yeah." he agreed softly.
Danny took a small breath. “Do you need me to stay any longer? I can if you want.” He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to figure out if now was a good time to leave or not.
He shrugged a little bit. "Oh. I…I don't know. You can…you can stay if you want to, or if you need to leave, that's…that's fine too."
Danny weighed his options, passing his cup between hands. “Eh. I can stay if you want. Nothin’ important goin’ on today.”
He nodded, taking another sip of water and sitting down. "Alright. Thanks." he said softly.
“It’s nothin’.” He glanced back outside, though there was nothing there to capture his interest.
He followed Danny's glance. "Is something wrong?" he asked after a moment.
“No, nothin’. I saw a dead bird out there earlier, but.. thing’s gone now. Wonder what took it.” He shrugged.
"Huh." he replied slowly. He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know."
“Probably a feral cat.” Danny bit his nails. “Or somethin’. Who knows, really? Mighta been that butcher down on Hayne Street.” He laughed, refilling his cup.
He let out a soft snort of laughter. "I hope it's not the butcher, that would be…kinda gross."
“Right? Fuckin’ nasty, butcha never know with the people here.” Danny shrugged.
He nodded. "Yeah, that's true." he ran a hand through his damp, dark hair.
“Buncha damn weirdos.” He laughed. “But I guess I’m one to talk, right?”
He chuckled. "Eh, I don't know. You aren't that bad."
“Alex, you flatter me.” A wolfish grin was plastered onto his face as he talked.
Alex snorted. "Not really." he replied, shrugging. "Just…y'know, in comparison. To some people. You aren't that bad."
“No, no, I’m not.” Danny agreed, finally sitting down as well. “That’s a good point.”
He sighed. "Yeah. And my brain is all kinds of fucked today, so don't expect…coherency about a lot of things."
“Noted, man. I get it.” Danny nodded. He took another quick glance outside.
