Simon frowned and poked at his food. “See, now I’m going to feel bad if I don’t eat it. I hate when you do this.”
Simon frowned and poked at his food. “See, now I’m going to feel bad if I don’t eat it. I hate when you do this.”
Raz glanced up at Simon with a small sigh, "why is that you can so easily take care of someone else, but when it come to your own well being, that completely goes down the drain?" He stabbed at a bite of food and popped it into his mouth. "I'm not forcing you to eat Simon. You can leave it if you're not hungry."
“Because of my naturally self-sacrificial nature,” Simon deadpanned. “And I am going to eat it, but only to make you happy.”
"you can't self sacrifice if there is not self to sacrifice." Raz muttered, passing Spook and Jack a but if ham from.his breakfast. He flicked his gaze to watch Simon start to eat, realeasing a silent breath of relief. " Be glad my happiness relies on your well being and not something more complicated."
Simon frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean?” he said, picking up a bit of food and looking at it before putting it in his mouth.
Raz shrugged and smiled softly at the cats looking up at him with round, pleading eyes. "I could ask for the moon or stars or something like that." He said, scratching spook behind the ear and shaking his head "no more, you had your breakfast."
“God knows I’d give it to you,” Simon said under his breath. He ate another bite of food and examined what was on his plate. “What even is this?”
Heooked up at Simon for a moment before responding with "puff pastry cups with scrambled eggs and ham inside." He found another chunk of ham as he felt Jack paw at his pants leg for more food. "You little needy creature." He muttered adoringly, passing the cats more ham before finishing off his plate and setting it in the sink.
“Suck-up,” Simon said to the cats. “You both know he’ll give you exactly what you want.”
Jack didn’t look the least bit sorry about this.
“Don’t get used to it,” Simon said mildly.
"and i'd willingly do so for these adorable beings." Raz agreed, scooping the two cats up and setting one in his lap and the other close to him on the table. "You can't say no to these adorable faces." He said, holding Jack up and pressing a kiss to his nose.
“Yes, you can.” Simon said. “Honestly. I think you like my cats a little too much. They’re going to make you the surrogate dad.”
Raz smirked and nuzzled Jack's face. "Aw is somone jelous?" He laughed softly and set the cat in his lap. "I might get myself a cat when we go back to Heaven." He mused with a smile
“What, are you offering to feed me you table scraps now? Of course I’m not jealous, neither of the cats or you.” He shoved a whole pastry in his mouth and glared at Razielle.
"well, I am providing you a meal so it's almost the same thing, no?" He glared back teasingly and stick out his tongue. "Mhm, suuure. " He drawled, rolling his eyes and setting Jack and Spook down on the floor. He stood up from the table and meandered to the livingroom area, stretching out his wings and sighing softly. "Was thing if going to for a bit of a fly, wanna come?"
“I am adverse to any sort of wanton exercise.” Simon brushed his hair back. “I will be in the shower, however. Feel free to join. Or watch.”
"It's not excersize if it's for fun." He said as he slid open the windows in the livingroom to let the breeze in. "Hm, as tempting as that offer is, I think I'll pass." He laughed softly and hopped up onto the window sill. "Come join me if you wanna have fun." He offered, saluting before he let the wind gently tug at his wings until he was airborne
“I think I’m a bad influence on you,” Simon said. “I don’t know if I should be proud or worried.” He got the shower running and washed the loose strands of hair from his head.
"both!" Raz called and fluttered in the air, letting his wings get used to flying for a bit before slowly backing away from the window. He grinned and shot off into the sky, reveling in the feeling of finally having his wings back to normal. More or less. There was still a twinge of soreness in a few places but Raz could shove that aside. He flew off towards the less populated area if the city, where buildings faded into treelines and soon to mountain, so where more private where he could let loose.
Simong got out of the shower ten minutes later, smelling like sandalwood and basil and he put on his favorite skirt and a light yellow sweatshirt, then sat on the couch. Spooks hopped up next to him and Simon picked her up and held her close to his chest, singing her a lullaby. She eventually went to sleep in his arms and he rubbed her head.
Raz flew around a bit more until he found a nice green to land. If he hadn't known better, Raz would have thought he was back home.
"Beautiful isn't it?"
Raz whipped around, finding Urielle striding towards him.
Raz sighed in relief and settled down in the grass, watching as the archangel sit beside him. "They never left, did they?"
Urielle shook his head and inhaled deeply "no, they never did. But we still don't know where they are."
Raz nodded slightly and rested his head on his knees. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be looking for them?"
Urielle shrugged "I'm taking a day off. I'm not particularly happy with Gabriel. I thought coming here would help both of us and give me a chance to apologies."
"So Simon was right?"
Urielle looked away momentarily and shook his head. "Sort of. We're not together. But we both acknowledge we have feelings for each other. But after what he did when you and Simon came to help with finding the Diety, I decided to break things off for a bit. We need to focus on the Diety, any help we can help get is welcome, no matter where it comes from. He's not too happy about that." He chuckled lightly but Raz could feel Urielle's strained sadness.
“Come on Jack. You too, buddy.” Jack curled up on Simon’s lap. “I think you just like my soap, hmmm.” Jack rolled over and purred. “I know it.”
"I heard you went to hell. What's that about?" Urielle inquiried, giving Raz a sharp glare.
Raz ducked his head, of course the archangel that guarded the gates of hell would have heard about that. "I was trying to help a friend."
Urielle nodded slightly, finally releasing Razielle from his gaze. "You know he can't come back. Even with such a sacrifice." He said softly.
"But why?! Everyone knows it was it wasn't right, you know it, Luce knows, hell even Gabriel knows! So why can't he come back? He deserves a life!" He cried out, wings fluffing up in anger, an anger he had kept hidden ever since he had left Hell.
Urielle regarded with the Everlast patience Raz only wished he had. "I know. But don't you as well? Do you not deserve a life? Anaelle lived his, unfortunately robbed of it's full length but nonetheless he lived a life. You deserve that as well." He lightly rested his hand in Raz's shoulder "we can't take Zophiel in, not until Simon can testify. He can't do that until the Diety has returned and grants him access to Heaven. Until then, we must do our best not to make things more complicated." He gaze Raz a pointed look. "And that includes not going to Hell again to strike a bargain with Luce."
Simon laid down on the couch holding both cats and closed his eyes. Spooks yawned and curled up on his stomach.
Razielle sighed softly but nodded his head in understanding. "I should probably go, don't want Simon worrying about me going back to Hell again." He bowed his head to the archangel.
Urielle gave a deep laugh "you may not see it now but he does care about you Razielle, despite his unconventional actions."
"Then I guess that's something we both have in common, we both have people in our lives who suck showing said pent up emotions." Raz gave a smirk before bowing once more and flying off, leaving Urielle blushing.
“He’ll be back soon,” Simon said to Spooks, who had gotten off the couch and was standing by the apartment door, making loud ‘rrrrowwwww!’ sounds.
