“You’re coming too. We have an appointment, remember? Heaven and all that. And don’t say it’s too early. Come on, no time to waste. There’s hot fudge pop tarts in the cabinet if you want breakfast,” he said impatiently, putting the rubber band around his wrist.
Raz groaned in protest "I don't think Urielle will expect so early." He tried to reason, reluctantly getting up and finding the pop tarts. He pulled on his shoes that were left at the door and ruffled his wings "alright, let's go home."
Simon gestured to the door. “Lead the way, Angel Boy,” he said, twisting open the soda and taking a sip. “You’re the wayfinder and I your . . . hm. I’ll be the wizard.”
"I have not a single clue as to what you're talking about." Raz muttered, walking out of the apartment and making his way outside. He munched on the poptart, finding them surprisingly good, that or he was so desperate for breakfast anything tasted good now. He led the both to the abandoned church on the outskirts of the city. He stopped and gazed skywards. "You ready?" He asked over his shoulder looking at Simon. Without waiting for a response he unfurled his wings and flew up into the air a few feet above the church. While still painful enough to make Raz hiss every so often, his wings were in much better condition to fly than they were a few days ago
“Onward and upward,” Simon said in response, following Razielle closely. His hair kept being blown into his face and he swept it out of his eyes impatiently. “I’m classifying us as DnD characters.”
he glanced over at Simon and tilted his head curiously. "You're just losing me more. But please, enlighten me on what 'DnD' and 'wayfinders' are." He said, breathing in deeply as they crossed into the clouds.
"You've never played DnD?" Simon said in mild disbelief. "I swear I'm going to fucking shave my head," he growled, tucking his hair behind his ears. "DnD is the single best game to ever exist."
Raz shook his head shyly "uhm no. But I think I've heard my patients talk about it. I don't know how to play it though." He shook his head "no dont shave it off, you can cut it later." He said, landing softly on a marble white platform. Ahead on the dias, Urielle awaited them. "You're late." He teased, warrily looking at Simon before waving the two up.
"What, worried I'll hang you from your entrails?" Simon said, in response to Urielle's look. "I'll admit, I was thinking about it." He tucked his wings in, pushing his hair back and landing lightly on the marble. "Onward and yonward."
Raz gave Simon a pointed look before bowing to the archangel.
Urielle nodded in acknowledgement "no I'm not worried about that." He nodded up the stairs, motioning them to follow "come, if you're early it means you'll need time. Gabriel is already at the archives." He exolained
“Oh, don’t look at me like that. You love me. You did my hair for me.” He followed Urielle up the stairs, his wings extended slightly for balance.
"careful, I can easily cut it off later." Raz retorted, flowing Urielle up the stairs.
"It's good to see you two getting along, very different from when you two had first met."
Raz shook his head "nah, pretty sure he still wants to kill me." He teased, glancing around as they entered heaven.
“I wouldn’t be too sad about a haircut,” Simon said ruefully. “And I only want to kill him because he’s plotting to kidnap my cats.”
Urielle listened to the two in amusement as they reached the top of the dias, the stair landing leading to wide expanse of white buildings all the architecture resembling different historic building on sEarth ave for the color.
"I'd rather not die, thanks." Raz chuckled lightly and stood by the edge of the landing, gazing out onto heaven, Peacefully quiet in the early hours of the morning.
"This way." Urielle instructed, guitding he two towards another stair case leaging to an old building, grey with gold accents. At the doors stood another angel, a stern look.on his handsome face, eyes sharpening as he behind Simon
"Honestly," Simon exclaimed. "You all treat me like I'm a menace to society here. Which is sort of true. But the benefit of the doubt would not be taken for granted." He narrowed his eyes at the unfamiliar angel, his wings fluffing up defensively. "I'm not going to kill you lot, you realize."
"seeing as you haven't killed Razielle yet, we can assume you aren't As a threat as you first seemed. But we are taking precautions." Urielle said as they approached.
Gabriel nodded to Urielle while Razielle bowed to Gabriel.
"Is he supposed to be here?" Gabriel asked, nodding to Simon.
"Yes, he is." Raz said quickly, staring back at Gabriel.
The archangel nodded slowly
"Oh, by the way, I'm planning a mass infiltration of your systems," Simon said sarcastically, glaring at Gabriel. "And, Urielle, oh boy, why was I a threat? Maybe you should remind me."
"now is not the time." Urielle said, glaring behind him at Simon. "But Razielle is correct. He has my permission to be here today."
"Today." Gabriel repeated, taking a deep breath and moving aside "but not tomorrow."
Urielle shrugged and entered the archives "maybe. Maybe not, that's up to him." He muttered in reply, entering the archives, followed by Razielle
“I’m not a serial killer, for God’s sake.” Simon scowled and followed Raz into the archives, shivering slightly. His wings didn’t flatten at all, instead extending slightly to protect both himself and Raz out of instinct.
"some would beg to differ." Gabriel muttered under his breath, Raz glared over his shoulder at the archangel but decidedly continued into the archives, knowing that eventually, Simon's innocence would be proven.
Raz pulled Simon by the wrist to keep him from lashing out, nearly losing his balance as he beheld the archives. Books lining every wall available, a circular marble table in the center Of the room, a few angles, most likely the scholars who practically litved here milled about. "This is amazing." He breathed
(i am so sorry i disappeared i had to go to inpatient therapy)
“Nerd.” Simon scowled at Raz when he grabbed his wrist. “I can control myself, thanks ever so much.” He jerked his wrist out of Razielle’s grasp.
(it's alright!)
"oh you have no clue," Raz retorted with a grin before releasing Simon. He didn't dare take his eyes off the room in front of him.
Urielle nudged them both with his wings. "Go ahead, I'll be in the East with if you need or find anything."
Raz didn't need anymore encouragement . He stepped up to the edge and unfurled his wings fully, flying off and scanning around. He dissapeared into a shed if books, the titles catching his attention
“Do not touch me,” Simon said angrily, stepping away from Urielle. “Honestly, and you wonder why I was going to kill you.” He peered over the edge of the marble ledge, extending his wings for balance. Ignoring the confused and scrutinizing looks of the angels at his dark wings, he hopped off the ledge and plummeted down toward the bottom, being careful not to hit the bottom. He landed lightly in the dim room, analyzing the spines of the books on the shelves.
"and get, you wonder why people question you're intentions." Urielle retorted, watching as the angel flew off. He took a deep breath before heading off towards a large shelf and started to look through the assortment of books.
Raz had been going around the entire building, gather heaps of books before finally settling down in a quiet corner and nestling himself between the stacks he had made, determined to get to reading
Simon eventually picked out four books, and carried them carefully to find Razielle. He watched Razielle reading for a moment, then sat next to Raz on the floor, crossing his legs and tucking his wings in close. “What did you find?”
