"I wouldn't give him so much credit just yet. And I'm not looking for information from him. It's just a courtesy thing." Raz took a deep breath to calm himself.
"I wouldn't give him so much credit just yet. And I'm not looking for information from him. It's just a courtesy thing." Raz took a deep breath to calm himself.
"Why are you so. . . flustered all of a sudden?" Simon asked, tipping his head.
"because for the longest time, I believed that Zophiel, while stuck up and kind of a jackass, was truly good. That he deserved the love of the archangels and that despite his flaws, was someone to look up to. To someday be like." He stood, wings quivering slightly as Raz tried to relax. "To know that he killed an innocent angel, had another angel blamed and isolated from their home, then act as if nothing was wrong and act as if he still deserved that kind of admiration and love?" He shook his head, honestly not sure where he was going with his rambling. "I know it shouldn't hurt. At least not personally. But it feels like I've been betrayed, that we've all been betrayed. Even the archangels." He shook his head, crossing his arms over his chest to keep them from pulling his hair out
"Hey, hey." Simon grabbed Raz's shoulders. "It's gonna be fine, right? We'll figure this out." He wrapped his arms around Raz, holding onto him tightly. "It's going to be fine. Don't worry."
Raz shook his head, angry tears falling down his cheeks. "How? He's spent so much time sucking up to angels for ears now. How are we going to disprove anything if they're already on his side?" He asked, voice muffled slightly. He let himself lean into Simon's hold, grateful for the support.
"I don't know yet. But I'll think of something. I promise. I'll think of something." He touched the back of Razielle's head, realizing that Raz was probably drawing from Simon's uncertainty.
Raz sniffed and took a deep breath, nodding slightly and resting his head against Simon's shoulder. "We both will. We'll find a way to make this right. It doesn't all just fall in you anymore." Raz reassured, closing his eyes and trying to calm himself down. "I'm gonna punch him in pretty face." Raz muttered with a slight laugh
"You and I both know that won't go over well." He didn't let go of Razielle, partly because the angel seemed happy and comfortable, and partly because it was nice to touch a person. Razielle was very warm and soft.
"I don't care, he deserves it, hell he deserves far worse." Raz pouted. He knew he'd stand no chance in an actual fight but he really would love an excuse to take his anger out of Zophiel, even if he got hurt in the process. He took a deep breath and peeked up at Simon. "You know I didn't really expect you to actually hug me. This is nice, thank you." He said softly gingerly curling his wings around Simon's form
Simon was quiet for a moment then said, "Why are you so surprised?" He flinched slightly when Razielle's feather's brushed against his back.
He shrugged slightly "you don't seem like the type of person who would do this." He said, lifting his wings slightly, feeling Simon flinch.
"I'm not a total dick, Raz. I happen to find you tolerable. Also you were frustrated."
"well, after seeing that you took care of two living beings, and that they were still alive, I figured you had to have everything some heart beneath all the stoic, bad guy, persona." He chuckled lightly, resting his head back against Simon's shoulder. "Do hug all the people you find tolerable or just the ones that have been to hell and back?"
"Hmm. Good question. I have only ever found about three people tolerable. And it's difficult to hug yourself, Anaele is dead, so that leaves just you." Simon shrugged. "Does it matter?"
Raz shook his head "I don't really hug many peoe either so this is a pleasent surprise." He laughed softly "yeah, I think it does matter. You hugged me to make me feel better. I think that that's something worth appreciating."
"Thank you," he said quietly. "I'm glad you think so." He shifted his arms slightly. "Do you want me to let go?"
"no, unless you want to let go, i'm ok with staying like this. Might not be able to walk for a bit but I'll be fine." He replied softly blotting at his emred eyes with his sleeves.
"Are you sure?" Simon asked. "I don't want to make you uncomfortable." He pulled away slightly so he could look at Raz. "Oh, please stop crying. I hate when people cry."
"I'm not crying, at least not anymore." He argued with a small laugh, looking up at Simon. "And I'm not uncomfortable, you don't have to hug me if you are but I'm honestly fine with it."
Simon frowned. "I think you're still crying. Also, you're quite short, do you know that?"
Raz rolled his eyes playfully "I'll be fine, besides, it's good to have a good cry every eow and then. Helps get out all those emotions." He glared up at the angel "yes, I'm very aware I'm under the make average hight, keep mentioning it and I'll give you something to cry about." He stuck his tongue out childishly and plopped his head back against Simon's shoulder
"Huh. I doubt that you could hurt me in any way," he pointed out. He carefully re-encircled Razielle with his arms. "You know. Because you're short."
Raz halfheartedly kicked Simon in the shins, nowhere near hard enough to actually hurt him. "Surprises come In small packages." He retorted with a grin, his wing feathers fluffing up slightly
“Small packages are cats. Not people,” Simon said. “And you aren’t surprising at all. You’re insanely predictable.”
"hm, true, speaking of which, I think someone's getting jealous." He peeked down at Spooks as she sat next to where they stood. "And get, you make it sound d like a bad thing. Predictability is comforting and sometime you need that. Not everything has to cause a heart attack." He gaze Simon a pointed look.
